I just got invited to a New Year's Eve party that will have a "prohibition" theme. 1920s period dress is required! Anybody have ideas? I'm willing to buy something new, but I don't have a lot of money for this. Maybe $100. I'd rather put together a costume from what I already own, but any ideas would help immensely. Thanks!
1920s' style, well I can think of some expensive shoes you could buy.....
Instead of one thing, I would get a few small things.

Some long beads, maybe faux pearls or something, curly hair, and straight shift dresses all scream 20s' to me. Also definitely tights, thigh high would be cool, but might make you look like a hooker if the other aspects of the costume are just too much. I quite like this bag:
And here is a cute cheap dress:
The above dress is pretty skimpy though, you would probably need to put something over it, maybe a trapeze jacket or something? Anyways, hope this helps!

I found a website that sells 20's costumes at good prices. They don't seem to have a huge selection but there are a few good ones. zoogsterscostumes.com
