1920s style?!
Permalink Closed

I just got invited to a New Year's Eve party that will have a "prohibition" theme. 1920s period dress is required! Anybody have ideas? I'm willing to buy something new, but I don't have a lot of money for this. Maybe $100. I'd rather put together a costume from what I already own, but any ideas would help immensely. Thanks!

1920s' style, well I can think of some expensive shoes you could buy.....

Instead of one thing, I would get a few small things.

Some long beads, maybe faux pearls or something, curly hair, and straight shift dresses all scream 20s' to me. Also definitely tights, thigh high would be cool, but might make you look like a hooker if the other aspects of the costume are just too much.
I quite like this bag:

And here is a cute cheap dress:

The above dress is pretty skimpy though, you would probably need to put something over it, maybe a trapeze jacket or something?
Anyways, hope this helps!

A 1920's style party sounds fabulous - I'm so jealous!

I agree that long beads would be great - actually, I think they're a must! A long beaded scarf would be lovely, too.

These purses would look great and I'm sure you could find something similar for a lot less.

Oooo how fun! I just finished doing a project on the 1920's and my groups topic was music and dance.

One main thing they used back then were long necklaces, like super long pearls. Flappers were very popular then!

Here are some pictures that I found

Around $130 at SunWalters, and they're having a 25% off sale (I have the coupon in an email, or the code might be posted).
