yet another car accident..

As many of you remember, DH was in a car accident about a month ago.. A lady ran a red light and he t-boned her.. All her fault..


Well he still doesnt have his car back and is driving a friends. So we have been driving my car whenever we are going somewhere together...


We were driving home on Saturday night from DH's work christmas party.. in the snow. There was about 2 inches on the ground already and nothing had been plowed or salted yet. DH was driving.. because I am always afraid to drive in bad weather. We were about 5 minutes from home and on a busy highway and we started sliding.. DH did exactly what you shouldn't do in the snow (he slammed on the brakes) and we lost control. Spun around 2 or 3 times and hit the guard rail.. hard! We were both okay and there were cars dodging us on the left and right. Thank god we didnt hit anyone else. We switched seats and i got us the rest of the way home. No police were needed. My car is really screwed up though. I definately need a new bumper and both quarter panels and the hood are bent and kinda shifted.. So much so that it is hard to open the passengers side door, because it is rubbing against the quarter panel.


My car is my baby and it is new (only a year old). I was about ready to serve him divorce papers after that episode. I know it wasnt his fault. It was totally the roads and the weather.. But I still have to think that if I were driving I would have handled it better and my car wouldnt be all beat up. I just cant believe he has been in 2 accidents in less than a month.


We are hoping to get his car back this week.. And I can drive his, while mine goes in to get fixed. It is just more hassle we dont need. And another $500 deductible that we cant afford since we are buying a new house. I am just hating the world right now.. and I dont understand why all these bad things keep happening to us.


I know we should be thankful that we are okay, but I just cant get past being mad at DH and the fact that he wrecked MY car and HIS in less than a month. Please feel free to console me.. I need it!

Man that SUCKS.  How unfair!  I think I'd be mad (however unfounded that may be) at my SO too, but he didn't do it on purpose.  Maybe he could have been more careful though, and hopefully he'll be a little more cautious in bad weather from now on.  Sorry Jocey .


I now prescribe you 5 cookies of your choice, to be taken 3 times per day for 3 days.

That really sucks :(  I'm sorry that you guys have had such bad luck lately.  I agree with LMonet; maybe he'll be very cautious about driving in the snow now which will prevent another (and potentially more serious) accident.  I understand why you're mad at him, I would be mad too, but try to remember that neither of the accidents were caused by any serious negligence on his part and that it could have happened to anyone.  Most important thing is that you're both ok!


PS:  I concur with the cookie prescription!

Are you freaking kidding me?!?!?!  Girl, you have some bad luck!!!  The cruise, Frank, the DH's car accident, and now this!  Geez!  I'm so sorry about the car accident.  That sucks, but I'm glad you're alright.  


I think your hubby did what his instincts told him.  It's such a split-second decision that I'm sure he didn't put a whole lot of thought into it.  Try not to be too mad at him--he probably feels bad too.


I'm glad you guys are okay.  I really hope your luck starts turning soon--this is getting to be ridiculous!!!

i'm sorry Jocey...it does seem like you having a bit of bad luck lately.  if i remember correctly, your DH has a truck, and those are a lot different than smaller cars.  maybe he just forgot that he didn't have the four wheel drive or something. 


i would secretly be mad at my SO if that happened, but keep perspective...you guys are ok.

Man! You DO have some bad luck lately. I'm so sorry you had another accident! And, if it makes you feel better, I'd be sooo pissed at my SO. I'd also know it wasn't rational but I wouldn't be able to help it. Just try and keep in mind how bad he feels. I'm sure he feels way worse than you do about it. (Hopefully anyway!)
