Anyone here take Xanax?

I take it for anxiety but it doesn't seem like it helps. It does help me sleep but that's about it. I was just wanting to here other experiences with the drug. Thanks.

I tried Xanax for anxiety, panic attacks- but it was not the drug for me , it really messed up by vision: saw double, halos, and dizziness. These drugs all effect people differently- one is defineatly not a cure all. How long have you been on it? What is your dosage- if too low may need to have it increased. I am on Effexor right now- it is the best for me. You want to find one that works for you at the lowest possible dosage- dont want to feel medicated, but calm and  able to handle the triggers that bring on the anxiety. Hth!

i have a prescription but hardly ever take it---sometimes to sleep or when I go to my inlaws -- i got the prescription for my wedding week---i was pretty nervous. It just calms me down and  I like it but it makes my hubby feel weird.

Yeah, I only take it once maybe every 1-2 weeks when I get in high stress situtations. I just don't feel like it does anything but make me sleepy.

If you really want it to be effective it is recommended to take it daily in the smallest dose you can - it takes awhile for your body to register its effects- do you really get anything from taking it so seldom? Maybe, my anxiety is more severe than yours- Ive been on a low dosage for 7 years because I was having severe panic attacks which were making it difficult to work- not a good thing to happen in the workplace.

I took Xanax for anxiety on Plane rides, but for normal everday anxiety I use Paxil, and that has helped me tremendously.
