first of all, i want you to relax and have fun when choosing something for me. here's a little rambling about me: i love unique objects that are handmade and have beautiful form / design. i have an eclectic mix of ornaments on our tree and i love adding to it each year. i want my tree to be a little storybook of ornaments when my husband and i are old and grey. i love the art of writing and sending letters. i get really excited about the texture of gorgeous paper. i just finished re-reading the griffin and sabine trilogy last night and am trying to find another book to read that grabs my imagination like those did. i love sipping tea before bed (decaffienated of course) and right now i'm into white tea. i am also really into my knitting projects. i think i enjoy knitting so much partly because of the gorgous yarns that i see at the shops. i love running amazing colors and textures through my fingers and making somthing from it. you can most likely get a sense of my style through my posts, but if i had to define it in words it would be "a classic modern + vintage mix". most of all, i love being able to see the thoughtfulness that went into the suprise.
Favorite stores: Typically boutiques - but I also really like Nordstrom. The only store I am consistently disappointed in (for me) is Urban.
What I don't want: Beauty stuff, candles, picture frames, knicknacks, home decor, kitchen stuff, christmas ornaments. Oh, and I think buying clothes that would need to be tried on would be hard.
What I need: (I LOVE suprises, so I'll be happy with anything I get, but here are some ideas.) I love love love hats and gloves. I'm the type to wear them all the time, and it's cold here, so it's practical too. And I don't worry about things being super warm - just cute. I also love stationary-type stuff - note cards, note pads, etc. I love to read - the only things I won't read are chicklit, horror, and sci-fi. Oh, and I can always use earrings.
A little about me: I'm 28, medium-sized. I like girly things, but not cutesy things. Hmmm. Oh, and I my secret santa, b/c I know she will sort through this rambling post and come up with something brilliant.

My fave stores: I'm open to anyplace that sells unique, fun stuff. I love Anthro, but it can get quite pricey! I also like Target and home stores. I think Ikea, F21, TJMaxx, and Arden B are great, too!
What I don't want: cutesy stuff like angels, bears, Precious Moments, Willow Tree, etc.; candles, picture frames, weird stuff, bath products because I don't have the time for baths!
What I need: I "need" nothing, but I love cute undies and pajamas. I also like unique decorative things for my house. Right now I'm into funky Buddhas and Tuscan-inspired/aged objects. I'm also obsessessed with all things beaded and/or sparkly! I like very pale blush pinks. I like anything that can make my home prettier! I also love interesting stationery and sparkly writing utensils (I swear, I must have been a crow in a past life....). Oh, and I guess it's a no-brainer that I like clothes!
About me: I have teeny feet - 5.5 or 6. I wear a size 4 to 6 on bottom and a 2-4/xs/s on top. I have 3 children, so decorative breakable things that sit on tables might not survive.
What I don't want: Well, I live in Phoenix, so I'd have to say warm weather clothes/accessories. I just get no use out of them. And I'd have to say clothes in general. I'm a hard fit.
Well, I'm not very picky. My decorating taste is kind of an old world/antique/vintage mix. Mostly earth tones w/ punches of red/gold. I'm a beauty product junkie. I love to cook and entertain as well.
I'm sure I'll love whatever you get me! Can't wait!
my favorite stores are: nordies, anthro...um, I just like to shop *s*
what I don't want: picture frames. jewelry. knicknacks. also probably not clothing - I am tough to shop for because fit is usually an issue and I have a lot of things tailored.
what I like: bath products, esp. natural ones (I am a bit of an "earth girl" when it comes to stuff like this), candles, esp. if they are soy, I love to read and have a good-sized collection of novels, both classics and what I consider to be classics. I am a minimalist for decor, but love things like woven baskets, and beautiful home accessories. I can always use more candle holders, too.
I could use some legwarmers...don't ask...but I could.
I love bold colors, not pastels. Jewel tones and strong colors are my preference. I also prefer silver (or silver-colored) metals to gold/brass ones. I love beautiful woods, and also interesting bottles/vases.
I love boxes! I have a collection of beautiful boxes - carved wood, inlaid mother-of-pearl, sterling silver, handpainted, etc. So an interesting or unusual box is always welcome in my home. *s*
A little bit about me:
I am 38 and average height (5'5"). I have dark hair and very pale skin. I love anything with clean lines - I am a pretty contemporary girl when it comes to design/decor/wardrobe, and don't really do kitsch (though I admire those who do). I like floral-y things over stripes or other patterns, for the most part.
HTH my santa! I don't feel weird about doing this - I'd rather know more about my SS because I *hate* to give gifts that the recipients don't need/like.

For my decret santa, who'll do a wonderfu job, since is a stylethread member!
What I really don't want is christmas decorations. Anything else goes.
About me: I am 31, single, love brit rock and classical music, and cooking! Size M or 8, shoes are size 9 (just in case...)
My style is kinda, I don't know, "rock"? But without the skulls and stuff. Lots of black, some silver and some purple here and there. And I love leather. Never leave home without a necklace!
I am sure you don't really need any suggestions tho!
Hello-First of all, I just love getting things in the mail and I will be happy with anything.
At the present moment, I could stand for a job or for my husband to find a job in DC so we can move there, a flu remedy, to lose 20 pounds or my SILs to be nicer to my husband and I!!
But on a more realistic note---
Anything to make me a better parent (but no parenting magazines--we are getting 5 already from our frequent flyer miles) or about adoption, things for our travels to China, things for our baby....chinese language c.ds., photo album, adoption books, converter for outlets in china, travel document holder for passport
Things I love---my little girl in China, cooking, wine, black and white photography, sushi, traveling, food, hot tea, my two crazy cats, museums, art, biographies of famous people, reading (in the past month, I have read, Memoirs of a Geisha---loved loved this, Schoolgirls, Every Second Counts--Lance Armstrong, and I Know this Much is True)
I could really use a new fun c.d. to listen to in my car---I am so terrible and never change them.
Lately, I have gotten into cardio kickboxing--(probably to relieve stress--see above), yoga and spin class
My favorite stores are probably Coach, Aveda, Sephora, Bare Minerals, Lilly Pulitzer, Ikea, Mitchell Gold
Probably no sugar, candles, or lotion, no travel books about CHINA or I Love You Like Crazy Cakes adoption book---we keep receiving these as gifts--

There are many languages, but laughter sounds the same in every one.
what i dont want: candles, picture frames, anything xmas oriented, stuffed animals, nothing overtly girly and frou frou and prissy, clothes, because i have to try it on, my body is funny.
what i want: accesories, scarves, anything unique and beautiful
a little about me: i'm 23, work in a law firm doing admin work, live in norcal. i like girly things, but nothing frou frou and prissy. i like pink, green, pale yellow....
My favorite places to shop are: mloomingdales, nordstroms, mexx, br, old navy
What I don't want: nothing with fragrance because I am severely allerrgic (this includes all candles, perfumes, and most facial cleansers and lotions)
What I would like: this may sound cheesey but I would love some long thermal underwear or some funky flanel pajamas. (It's cold in NYC) I wear a large (14) or x-large (16)
I love cooking so a cookbook is always good. I also travel a bit so maybe something for the constant traveller.
What I don't need: Picture frames, candles, home decor, body lotions or things that smell (I'm sensitive to a lot of scents)
What I need/like: I could use a pair of warm winter gloves, my old ones have a hole! Another idea: I'd like a basic crewneck long sleeved tee, maybe light pink or lavender - for layering! Maybe a small/delicate but unique necklace (but not a fan of yellow gold.) I also like to read and a lot of the books that you girls have discussed on this forum have sounded great! I hope these ideas are helpful!
About me: I'm 23 and practically married (FH and I have been together for 8 years now.) I'm a size S and I like pink, brown, and pretty things. All of you girls have such great taste, I know I will love whatever I get!! Thanks, SS!
Stores I hate: Forever 21, Rampage, Claires, Bath and Body Works, (anything teeny-bopper)
Things I DO NOT want: picture frames, knick-knacks (I hate clutter), bath products, lotions (I have sensitive skin).. Christmas ormaments, clothes...
Things I DO want: Any unique gifty things from Anthro, Anything "Will & Grace" (DVDs).. Anything for my new house (we move in Jan. 19th).. Accessories (LOVE unique jewelry. like from JLear) etc, medicine ball, ab balls (work out items)..
I am 24, recently married, have two cats and a new puppy.. We are buying a new house in a few weeks.. I lOVE shopping, unique gifty things from Anthro, expensive designer hangbags and shoes, going to the gym, Anything shabby chic.. and anything green.
That's all I can think of right now. I hope that helps!
My Favorite stores: New York and Company, Victoria Secret, Bath and Body Works
What I don't want: lotion/bath stuff (getting plenty for the holidays already)
What I would love: I LOVE NY and Co but I never buy accessories from there cause I don't splurge on that sort of thing for myself, I love this purse they have there (slouchy black leather with 2 silver hoops holding on seaquin strap $16.50 I think on sale!) There is also this really cute pill box they have there that I want to hold vitamins and tylonol in my purse. They have a pink one that is soo cute! I never really buy jewelry for myself either. Dangly earrings would be nice. I love pink and black. I wear mostly silver jewelry (along with any colors).
my favorite stores: sephora, anyplace that sells shoes
honestly, i can't think of anything i really want or really don't want, so i'll just babble about myself for a minute and you can get me whatever you want to!
i'm 27, live with my bf of 7+ years, have a dog and a cat. i work in politics. i'm a size M in most clothes and a 7 in shoes. i live in upstate new york, where it's freezing and boring this time of year. i'm taking a cruise at the end of january and would love something i could take/use on my trip!

What I don't want: I'm pretty much open to anything. I've been on the shopping ban for so long (and yet I have no decrease in ccs???) that all things appeal to me. I prefer nothing from Target or Wal-Mart since I boycott those stores. Probably no clothes, just because of budget and nothing too cutesy.
What I want: Everything and anything! I'm pretty eclectic and I like things out of the ordinary. That said, my favorite stores are all mall stores, so I can't be that eclectic. I love beauty products, thrift store finds, jewelry, home stuff (my house has a teal/grapefruit/apple green color scheme - think anthro moroccan minus the heavy browns - i know, I'm a dork), books, and music. I just thought of another! I am trying to get into vegetarian cooking but not only am I a beginner, I'm practically guaranteed a disaster in the kitchen everytime I use it. So if it's a cookbook, I'd like it dumbed down as much as possible! Okay, I've been looking at all the posts and I think I'd love some jewelry. (I'll stop editing this now... Christmas lists and I have a long history!)
A little about me: I'm about to be 27 (ah!) and I'm a boring attorney. I'm constantly trying to up my cool factor with unique things. I love color and I paint (when I grow up I'm going to be an artist!) so I'm enthralled by textures and robust colors. I'm a big nerd and, as most of you already know, I'll debate the misuse of irony any day. I'm anything but a minimalist, but sometimes I secretly crave to just have one vase in my monochrome living room where the tv is mysteriously hidden. (Okay, not really...) Oh, I'm super clumsy (bandaids are always welcome), think I'm funny, and am the happiest moody girl I know. And did I mention I love wine? Oh yes, I do. And Gilmore Girls. I think I'm a lot like Lorelai. Sadly.
To my secret santa- I will tell you a little about me....I am 29 and married. I work at an advertising agency in chicago. I am 5 months pregnant and wear a size medium or large in maternity stuff and an having a baby boy....Jack. i just put up our christmas tree and would love new ornaments for it. i am pretty easy to buy for, I love getting presents and will be happy with anything you can think of. There are only a few things i don't need...lotions and such, or picture frames. i hope you have fun being my secret santa...
What I don't need: Picture frames, candles, home decor, body lotions, knick knacks, anything christmas related (I am jewish), stuff for the baby - she has more clothes than I do!!
What I need/like: I am pretty easy - I think any gift that comes from the heart is a great one. I wish I could hint for things I want like some others did, I know that makes it so easy for my SS...but I can't really think of anything I am dying for right now.
About me: I'm 30 and a SAHM of a 2.5 month old. I hate clutter. I am creative, I make my own jewelry and cards/stationary. I am fairly active - I try to go out with the baby as much as I can - I can't just sit around - it's not in my nature.
