oh my gosh, halleybird, i'm so sorry! you and halley are definitely in my thoughts and prayers. and mia is right, 90-95% are definitely good numbers. thanks so much for keeping us updated.
i'm sorry to hear the bad news, but like the other girls have said - the odds are in your favor. i'm sure that after the second surgery halley will be fine. she's a lucky dog to have you and dh (and sully!) on her side.
i'll keep all of you in my thoughts. keep us updated.

You know what's funny? I don't have any pets and I don't want pets, especially not a dog, but ever since you posted about Halley and what's been going on with her, I can't stop thinking about her. It's as if 1) I know her and 2) she's a real person to me!
I'm sorry to hear it wasn't better news but I'm glad the vet thinks she can can get it all. I hope Halley (and you and your fam) gets better really quickly and she never gets sick again! Good luck!
Someone tell me to trust my vet and not to do research online. I was reading up on her condition last night, and what I read said that the level she has (2) is variable, meaning the survival rates vary greatly and can be anywhere from 50-90%, so not as good as what my vet said. Should I just trust that my vet knows what she's doing? She's been Halley's vet for about 3 years, and she has 30+ years of experience. I just have OCD, especially when it comes to medical stuff.
I am glad we decided not to pursue chemo yet. One of my students said her dog went through it and it was very taxing.
