Ebay/online buying etiquette question
Permalink Closed

Hey guys,

I bought an MJ Lola a few weeks ago online, from someone I met on another board.  I had all sorts of trouble paying her for it because Paypal kept messing up (they acknowledged to me that it was their fault, but not to her).

Anyway, she gave me the benefit of the doubt, even though my money was in Paypal no-man's land and took a full TWO WEEKS to credit to her account. In addition, as soon as it did clear her account, she rushed out on a holiday weekend to ship it to me. I got the bag today (which is totally authentic and in perfect condition), and she also threw in a really cute Isabella Fiore clutch (!!!). On top of it all, she gave me an amazing deal on the bag.

So, my question -- should I send her a thank-you gift or something? She was so incredibly nice and helpful. I probably would have given up on anybody who had the issues I did. If so, what should I send her? Would that be weird?

I don't really know what the etiquette is but if you have her address how about sending her a bouquet of flowers or some sort of basket as a thank you gift.

That's a great idea.  How about something festive for the holidays?  Yankee Candle has some cute candle gifts that they will gift wrap and send out for you.  I did that as a quick thank-you gift a few years ago.  Or maybe a little something from Sephora.  OR, a couple of the $5 Starbucks gift cards w/ a TY card would be nice (and cheap!).  I always appreciate those!

I like Cricket's idea of Starbucks or Sephora gc's with a thank you card.  Very nice and totally appropriate (sp?).  You are very sweet.
