okay, i know this is totally and ridiculously anal of me...but there's got to be some sort of trick my mom never taught me.  and ever since we got these deep pocket sheets as wedding gifts, i will do almost anything to avoid folding them...pathetic, i know.  so what are you secrets to getting these babies neatly folded and linen-closet-ready???

It's almost impossible to explain....I was wondering too, though, so I did a search online a few months ago. Just google "folding fitted sheets." You'll find a lot of information, including diagrams. I STILL had trouble even after reading through the info, but I finally found one pictorial that I could follow. I did it for about two weeks and now I'm back to rolling my fitted sheets up into a ball and figuring they'll straighten out when they're put on the mattress.

Funny story: one day my mom called me into the hallway where our linen closet is and told me she needed to show me something her mom showed her.  She said I needed to know how to fold a fitted sheet.  She opened it up and stuck her hands in the corners...and balled it up in a little bunch .  That is my family's traditional way of folding the fitted sheet.

I do it the Martha Stewart way.  This is how my mother taught me to fold sheets since I was little (she made me help her!)

my mother tried to show me, as did my sister and then my boyfriend, but i can't figure it out and decided that i don't want to either.

Martha Stewart taught me how. It was on her show one day...it's the same as the tutorial Cricket posted. Works like a charm.

I am with Courtney & Cricket.  I was watching Martha Stewart one day and this was a lesson I never realized I needed to learn, but now I can be a little compulsive about it!
