first - poor kate! i can't believe what a bitch her mother is. and what do you think is up with the horse? is it her dead father? why did sawyer see it too?
i love mr. eko, i think he's my new favorite. i think that the eko/locke relationship will be quite interesting to watch.
the computer - who do you think is typing to michael? it can't be walt. locke is going to flip when he sees what's going on there...and i really want to know what this "incident" is. what's the speculation on the lost sites, i don't check them...
other thoughts? i'm sure i'll have more later..

I literally almost choked on my water when Michael started typing on the computer! I have a feeling they're going to find out what those glass doors are for...
Last night's episode really didn't do it for me. I feel like the whole episode tried to pack too much in. The funeral, the kiss with Jack and Kate, Jack flirting w/ AL, the video, the computer, Sawyer's illness, the black horse, and then Kate's backstory. I felt overwhelmed and underwhelmed at the same time.
Shannon's funeral wasn't very satisfying to me. I felt like there should have been more closure or something.
I'm still totally confused about the black horse. Where did it come from? Is it the ghost of her father, or is it just a coincidence that there's a black horse on the island? And if there's one black horse, there have to be others, so where are they?
I love Mr. Eko. I find him very compelling. I feel like he and Locke are kind of the same person (they're in tune with nature and they both pretty strongly believe in fate). I thought it was weird though that Locke didn't think that the two pieces of tape coming together was fate at first--I felt like that would have been a conclusion he would have jumped to. Is Locke changing?
The whole computer thing is so weird. I'm dying to know what the deal is. Part of me still thinks it's a psychological experiment though. But it's probably not. I have no idea.
I'm probably going to lurk over on the Lost message board and see what I can get out of it. Although, I do have to say, those people are SUPER rude to each other and they also never seem to be right about predicting stuff.
i haven't seen it, because my $#%$#$% tivo has decided to just selectively take a break. even though i have a "season pass" for lost and have never even changed the settings or anything on it in two years, and the episodes show up beforehand in the "to do list"--tivo just doesn't want to tape lost anymore, so it skips it. this is the third week.
Last night's episode was so-so for me, though I loved the part where Locke and Eko finally got to sit down and talk. My favorite character is Mr. Eko- everytime he speaks it's like "whoa..." mind-boggling. I don't think it's Walt who's communicating with Michael through the computer. Maybe the Others have access to a computer somewhere?
Sayid admitted that the saw Walt, too. There's Jack saw his Dad, Sayid and Shannon saw Walt. Kate and Sawyer saw the horse. I don't think the horse is "just a horse" on the island. I think it's a vision similar to what Jack, Shannon, and Sayid have seen. something on the island that can make people see things. Some of the Hanso Foundation's/ Dharma Initiative's projects included psychology and parapsychology-related stuff.
My hubby didn't think that it was Walt talking to Michael through the computer, either. I'm not so sure. We don't know where the Others live. There are multiple Dharma stations on the island, if the Others are in one, there might be a computer in it, and Walt might be able to use it. But, I think it's just as likely that someone else is talking to Michael.
I'm glad we finally got to see why when Kate went to go see her mom in the hospital first season, her mom started screaming and freaking out. I felt really bad for Kate until she explained to Sawyer that she didn't kill Wayne because he abused her mom, but because she was angry that he was part of her. Then I lost a lot of sympathy for her.
I definitely want to know what the "incident" was. What happens if they try to contact the "outside world"? Is talking to Walt really the "outside world", especially if he's in another Dharma station? I definitely think we'll see the blast doors close, I wonder who will be trapped inside the bunker?
Eko and Locke are the "dream team," to steal a phrase from a friend's blog. I love how they interact!
I want to see Desmond again, I hope he comes back!
Talk about the ghost in the machine! The end with Michael and the computer gave me chills. I did think it was unlikely that he'd just sit down and happy-go-lucky start typing on this creepy computer in a creepy bunker, but what the hell, they needed to progress the story.
Did you notice that in the background in Kate's house at the beginning, you can see some ceramic horses on the bookshelves? First, when she walks her dad in the front door, the camera panned right in front of a set of shelves. I watched it in slow motion and there's a horse in the middle. I also think there's another horse on the far wall behind Kate, also in that same scene.
ETA: I just read the re-cap at Entertainment Weekly's site, and they said when Kate goes into her army dad's office, you can see Sayid on TV in the background! Apparently he's being led away in handcuffs. Time to go back and re-watch!
The black horse. In keeping with the black/white contrast theme that we've seen before (the backgammon game, Adam and Eve's stones), this horse is a contrast the the white polar bear. Both are animals that clearly shouldn't be on the island. What perplexes me is that the horse was also in Kate's flashback. Weird.
When Kate kissed Jack, it was like she was seeing someone else (maybe the childhood sweetheart who was killed in the accident) b/c her expression changed right before she kissed him and then again, right after as if she realized that he was Jack and not the person that she was seeing before.
Sawyer and Kate are so gonna hook-up!! As are AL and Jack (ew, I hate her).
About the video:
They are definitely still missing peices and who's to say the film strip that Eko found is the same film strip that is in the hatch? Since it was found in a different station, wouldn't it be a different film strip? Strange.
I love Eko and Locke. They're great.
About the computer:
I definitely don't think it's Walt. If it is, it isn't the Walt we knew before. I think that he is an Other now. I wonder how someone else managed to access that computer. Obviously, there is some kind of control room somewhere.
That's all I've got for now. If I think of anything else, I'll come back.
I was talking to my dad last night about the episode (I've gotten them hooked now...heh heh heh! ) and he was saying that he thinks the black stallion has some sort of sexual overtones and it's a bad omen as well. I'm also thinking that it might not be real, even though Sawyer saw it. Sawyer and Kate are the only two people on the island (that we know of) that have killed people and they have some sort of bond because of it. I'm thinking that the black stallion has something to do with that. On some of the Lost boards people were thinking that the black horse was a guardian angel of some sort for Kate, like it was her father trying to help her, which makes absolutely NO sense to me, seeing as how they hated each other.
I just watched last week's ep last night. I'm behind, I know. Anyway, I totally think the black horse is a guardian angel. In last week's ep. it showed up to save her when she was captured by the agent. And while it was weird on the island, it certainly wasn't bad because it didn't hurt anything - at least not that we know of.
My tape cut off at the very end so I missed Michael typing on the computer. How weird! I'm anxious to see this week so I can see what happened.
I also love Eko. He's my new favorite character.
I wonder if there are other parts of the tape that are missing too? I wonder what the "incident' was that was referred to in the tape? Do you think it has to do with the others?

That's funny - my hubby said the same thing & he never comments on men... wow that sounds odd - but you know what I mean!

Ooh yes, Jin is so hot. When he came out of the tent and Sun followed him, I thought, you know they had a passionate "I thought I would never see you again, come here!" night together.
And also, what a great character. Last season I thought he was an entirely different person, and it's such great storytelling the way they developed him and showed you who he really was. I'm bummed the next two weeks are re-runs,
Yeah, unfortunately tonight and next week are both re-runs. I was checking my Tivo listing last night and both were identified as repeats. I think tonight is "Everybody Hates Hugo," the one where he has to dole out the food from the hatch and he's afraid everyone will get mad at him, and next week is "...And Found." The description said something like "As he searches for his son in the jungle, Michael realizes he's not alone."
