Magazine Recommendations for Home & Design
Permalink Closed

I am in a get some new magazines mode and would love to hear your favourite or best home & design magazines. Which ones do you subscribe to??

I am planning to buy a house next year and already have some ideas but its always wonderful to have a file of actual pictures to get inspiration and accurate colours, etc

If you have any particular recos for any magazine that would be particularly good for a brick renovated place - kinda like the NY brownstones, I am going to subscribe.

Right now I am considering Metropolitan Home. What do you think...TIA

I wish I could find a good home mag that has a variety of styles.  Most of the mags I pick up have only modern funky Ikea style.

I Elle Decor.  It's my favorite.  They have a really nice variety of styles that they show.  And domino is pretty good too.  domino is Lucky's sister magazine, so it's laid out just like Lucky (and unfortunately has similarly high price points) but you get great ideas and can find cheaper alternatives to their look.

I find this, too. I love the style, but not for my house or lifestyle. My MIL actually gives me copies of "Cottage Living" and they have some cool stuff in there for more traditional styles. It's not very "country" either.

I am going to school for interior design so I have had to buy them all. My favorites are Elle decor and there is one that is a little harder to find, but Barnes and Noble has it, called Interior Design. It is really good.

i subscribe to dwell and domino. i like them both but for very different reasons (obviously)

i used to get metropolitan home a few years ago but stopped subscribing because while it's fine for inspiration, whenever i saw something i wanted it was usually available to the trade only — which pisses me off!

Thanks you all.

I have been wondering about Architectural Digest too and will look at it in Barnes and Nobles before I finally decide.

And will probably get Elle Decor for now.

I love "Cottage Living".  I also get "Domino", but that's not really useful to me.  I like "Coastal Living", as well, since I love the beach.

I like Domino and I absolutely love Living etc. You can buy the latter at Borders or at Barnes&Noble - I highly recommend it!
