so I was riding the train home from class last night and the guy sitting next to me was reading the newspaper. Not an unual occurance, whatever. I glanced over and notced he was reading the buisness section of the Washington Post. Cool. So he finishes up and goes to put it back into his bag, but then looks at me and says "do you want the style section?" wtf? I didn't know if I should be flattered that he thought I was stylish, angry that maybe he thought I "needed" to read the style section because I have none, or pissed because he thought that I am a girl and therefore not interested in the rest of the paper. I'm thinking it was the last one. I wish I had given him a better response than I did (which was basically just a scoff and a no thanks)...

I don't know what he actually meant, but I took it to mean "you're a woman, the only section of the newspaper you could possibly be interested in is the style section." Hopefully I'm wrong.  Bleah.

I'm such I dork, I would probably say SURE!  But seriously, maybe he never reads the style section and thought he would be nice and give it to someone else.  Obviously, he didn't realize what a sexist question that could be.  Guys are so dumb.

ILoveChoo, this post made me laugh! Some guys don't pay attention to what they're saying at all! I totally believe that he just thought you would be interested in it since you are stylish and obviously like to keep up with what's new in the fashion world. He probably thought he was being nice......

He did probably just think he was being nice, silly boy   Next time just say, well actually I prefer to read the business section first and then the style section.  Implying, not only am I stylish, but also business savvy

My opinion, guys think with the wrong head if you know what I mean, so the only reason he asked was because he thought you were cute or wanted to chat with you.  So the idea he came up with to be able to talk to you was hey I should offer her the style section of my newspaper, thinking he was being really clever and maybe you would be really flattered or talk to him.  I have never known a guy to just do something nice for no reason to girls that are just around, he was hitting on you!!

I agree with this.  I laughed too but immediately thought you looked stylish, therefore you should want to read the style section.  I would have been flattered, but I'm a little ditzy sometimes too...
