When Jennifer Aniston's character in Bruce Almighty is praying for God to make the pain of loving someone who cheated you go away.  I've been there done that & everytime I see it I just lose it.

It's a documentary, so there are definitely sad moments (I was crying in the theater) but these are just the kinds of things that happen to animals in the wild. There are also intensely happy moments. That movie is an emotional roller coaster (at least for me.) I it so much.

My DH laughs at me because he said I'm probably the only person that cries over Battlestar Galatica! (bastet - you watch too, right? back me up here!) -- Edited by laken1 at 15:26, 2005-11-30

Lol!  I haven't actually cried at BSG yet, but I almost did during an episode of Stargate when one of the character's Dad's (a semi regular character) died. I can't wait for the new BSG eps to start up!  Hopefully one will feature Col. Tigh's wife meeting a nasty end.

And whoever said "Animal Cops" makes them tear up, I have to turn that show off a lot because I get so upset when they show mistreated animals.

Anything can make me cry. I cried over the people Christmas shopping when I was waiting for my dad in the car in the Costco parking lot the other day. Remembrance Day (Nov 11 - I know you have a different name for this) makes me cry when I see the footage of all the old vets tearing up. Animals, old people and children make me cry. Pampers commercials make me cry. Thinking of my parents (alive and well) makes me cry sometimes. Halleybird's dog made me cry. I'm a fucking crybaby is the conclusion, I think.

Mia you are so cute!

Well this is weird but I cry when I hear the song "Silent Night."  Uh-oh I'm welling up just hearing it in my head.  I have NO idea why.

Also any time I see starving children (those commercials).  It's so sad to think there's starving kids out there dying while we have an obesity problem here.

Any sad movie, hence, I avoid sad movies if I can.

You know the movie "Cinema Paradiso"? Well, every time I see the last scene (when he watches all the cut kisses) I start crying like a baby, no matter if I watched that scene 20 times. My sisters just look at me, nod their head and say "you are such an idiot!"

OMG I was lurking on the school computer while procrastinating but I had to sign in just to say MEEE TOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I haven't watched it in a while but I swear I watched that movie every few months when I was in high school, and I always BAWLED at the end.

if i see an elderly person cry, i'm gone.  the tears just won't stop!  also, extreme home makeover really gets me.    i've had to turn it off before- if i'm already in an emotional mood (or if i'm PMSing), i can't watch that show at all.  eta: i always cry when i go to hospitals and nursing homes- especially nursing homes.  my grandfather was in one for a while before he died and i would cry as soon as i left his room and all the way home.  i tend to cry in hospitals, except if i'm visiting a newborn baby or something.  i think the hospital crying is more anxiety-induced though.  i hate hospitals!!-- Edited by sfcaligirl at 14:52, 2005-11-30

yes this is another one of mine--sad, lonely and/or sick old people make me almost unbearably sad. And I don't cry in hospitals, I just feel terrified, isolated and anxious as hell to get out.

Also cannot, CANNOT CANNOT CANNOT handle sick or hurt animals. Absolutely flip out.

Oh, and any of the scenes in the HP books that deal with his parents. I bawl every time I read the scene in GOF with the spiders... cried hysterically when I saw the movie too...

I have to add another... it has to do with the troops

On our news, they have a Fallen Heroes segment that they do once every night before a commercial break (I'm blanking on whether it's local or national). They'll show a picture and say "Sgt Joe Shmoe was engaged to Jane Doe and enjoyed playing basketball and spending time with his family. He joined the Army with his life-long best friend John Smith, and they fought to the death together." Something like that... much more personal, much more touching. It really, really breaks my heart.

Also, seeing troops come home to their families... I just lose it, especially when there's little kids running up yelling "Daddy!/Mommy!" and jumping right into their arms. I love seeing that, but it's so emotional. I feel so happy for them, so sad that they were ever apart, grateful that they're home safe, grateful that they fought for us (not that I necessarily agree that they should be there, not that I don't agree... totally neutral comment ).

I know I have already posted twice, which makes me a total cry baby, but with all the talk about animals I have to tell thins story:

I was driving home from work one day and this dog was kind of running on the side of the road.  Well I started going really slow in case he ran in front of my car, well, he did!  And he ran there for about 5 minutes!!  I kept flashing my headlights at the oncoming traffic in case he ran in front of them.  He finally did, but no one hit him thanks to my flashing, and he ran into this field on the other side of the road.  I immediatly started balling!  I kept thinking, I should have stopped my car and called the dog to see if he would get in my car and taken him to a shelter!  What if he gets hit later or freezes to death?  The thoughts overwhelmed me!  I cried the rest of the way home, probably about an hour.  My family thought I was insane!  I can't stand the idea of ANYTHING bad happening to ANY animal, but dogs the most!!
