this is a really cheesy one, but the "bring him home" song from near the end of "les miserables."  i've seen it a bunch of times in the theater, and i lose it every time, especially if the jean valjean has a great voice--just openly sobbing in my seat--it's very embarrassing.  i will also cry if i hear it on the soundtrack or playing somewhere (like an elevator).  it's like a pavlovian response, i think.

Oh my god!!!  Ditto!  I went to the production with my family.  It was literally me, my mom, my brother and MY DAD sobbing in a line!!!!  I don't think I had ever seen my Dad cry before that!  Very heartwrenching!

The other one for me is on My So Called Life when they play that "Buffalo Tom" song and Jordan Catalano holds Angela's hand in front of EVERYONE at school!!

OMG - everytime I watch this episode, I tear up at this part Luv2Shop!!!  My boyfriend will never understand why.

Some others for me are the 2 Chase commericals for credit cards..one is the one where the daugher gets married and it shows the father watching and seeing his little girl, etc.  The other is the one where the couple gets married..and it shows their life go into the future, have kids, become grandparents, etc.

The movie Simon Birch - I don't know if anyone has seen it, but I've never balled so much in my life as I did during the part where Simon tries to save everyone in the drowning bus...and then he ends up dying - I cried my heart out

I cry every single time I ever turn on Extreme Makeover Home Edition

The Notebook makes me cry too - book & movie

One of the last episodes of Felicity, where Felicity & Ben graduate and break up because Ben has to move to Arizona..and then Ben ends up showing up in California and telling Felicity she was right..it was his turn to follow her awwww

I just thought of another thing to add to my already embarrassing list of things that make me cry: the end of Ladder 49. He was so close to making it out, it breaks my heart. I remember sitting in the theater, sobbing uncontrollably, and vowing never to watch it again. It also breaks my heart when they show up at the house to break the news to his wife......

Have you seen Johnny cash in his last video Dirt"? Oh, my god this totally wrenches me to the core. I literally wept when I saw it the first time. There is so much powerful emotion in this song- you must here it.

lilyann - dirt is originally a nine inch nails song, so when i first saw the johnny cash video i was baffled - johnny cash covering nin?  i loved it by nin, but the jc video really is moving.

i'm a big crier, but only about silly stuff like commercials, shows and movies.  i barely even cried at my mom's memorial service, but that damn hallmark commercial you've all been talking about would have me bawling like a baby every time.

there was also this book our teacher read us in 6th grade, it was a childrens picture book, because we had 10 mins. left to the day and our teacher was young and wanted to keep us entertained- where it had a mom rocking her kid to sleep all through their youth (i think?), and then the kid did the same for the mom when the kid had grown up (think it was a son? not sure).  i started tearing up in class and had to hide it because i was so embarrassed.

I love you Forever by Robert Munsch.

I can't talk about it. Welling up.

EEEEeeee I'm welling up too.  I went to Target to buy children's books for a charity thing and I REALLY wanted to get that one, but didn't because (a) some of the kids who will get the books have really tough home lives (b) that fact, combined with the fact that the book makes me cry anyway, would have made for a totally embarrassing checkout experience.

Also Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.  And anytime babies are hurt or dying.  I almost cried the other day when my 10 month old nephew got his feelings hurt when the dog barked at him.

And anything with animals--whew they get me EVERY TIME.  And whenever my dad cries.  I CAN'T TAKE IT!

Oh, and this one didn't make me cry but it did give me chills.  It's a Pampers commercial (I think) that has a track of someone (maybe Joan Baez?) singing Silent Night and it shows all these babies.  It touches me right in the heart.

p.s. I claim I'm not really a crier.

1. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition KILLS me. I always say, "Oh, I'm not going to cry about this one..." and then I do. Every time.

2. Father of the Bride. I know it's a comedy, but the relationship between the father and daughter really gets me.

I want to cry just thinking about this book.  My mom actually gave it to me as a gift several years ago and the first time I read it, I cried and cried.  Mind you, I was probaby 23 at the time.

Most recently, the season finale of Six Feet Under made me cry like a total baby.  Specifically the very end, where they fast forward to the future and show Ruth dying surrounded by everyone.  I want to cry just thinking about it right now.

Any Budweiser (I think) commercial with the Clydesdale horses... I just tear up immediately. There's nothing I can do to control it.

Also, any movie with animals in it. For example, I was weeping through the preview for Naria: the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. The scene where the animals are all charging towards the White Witch's (?) army. Oh man, I'm gonna be a basket case when I see that.

This one is embarassing:  I TOTALLY started crying when the carver attacked Christian instead of Sean in the finale episode of Nip Tuck last season!!

The other one is There you'll be by Faith Hill, my song with my dad at my wedding.  Even looking at the pictures of us dancing makes me tear up.

Another one: the new Kenny Chesney song "Who You'd Be Today."  So sad.

BABIES!!! Everytime I see a little baby I get all mushy inside and teary eyed!

AM I too young for that to even be happening to me?

And if I see any family or friend crying, I lose it! I cant even help them out with advice because I am right there crying with them!

They Joy Luck Club - especially the scene where the girl drowns her own baby just so her horrid husband won't have him anymore.  Then she just sobs and screams when she realizes it's done.  I bawl like a baby when I see that scene.  And most of the movie, quite frankly.

When someone is selling a full-grown pet.  The sign will always say something like "Well-behaved cocker spaniel, 4 years old, needs a home.  We are moving to a place that won't allow pets.  OR We just had a new baby."  I just imagine how depressed that doggy or kitty is going to be when they find out they are never seeing their family again and what will happen if they don't find a good home for the pet.

i just thought of this thread twice last week--once when i was on HOLD on the phone (so this means i was listening to muzak) and the dionne warwick and friends "that's what friends are for" song started up and my eyes welled up.  that, my friends, may be the topper.  how pathetic.

and the other was that i was in the card aisle at the drugstore and this older man was browsing the cards for "granddaughter birthday" and it was so darn cute and sweet i just wanted run up and hug him.

Anything can make me cry. I cried over the people Christmas shopping when I was waiting for my dad in the car in the Costco parking lot the other day.

Remembrance Day (Nov 11 - I know you have a different name for this) makes me cry when I see the footage of all the old vets tearing up.

Animals, old people and children make me cry. Pampers commercials make me cry. Thinking of my parents (alive and well) makes me cry sometimes. Halleybird's dog made me cry.

I'm a fucking crybaby is the conclusion, I think.
