OMG! I'm honored! :) Thanks lynnie for picking me!

lynnie
what is your favorite pair of shoes? and what is your most worn pair of shoes? (are they ever really the same pair?) My favorite pair is this amazing pair of Gucci platform strappy sandals. They have these beautiful stones on the front and a 6" high heel. Needless to say, they are not the most worn pair. They are probably my least worn pair. I wore them in Vegas for about 20 minutes and then cried in my room from my pain! My most worn pair I just threw out last year. They were a really gross pair of Adidas sneakers I had since HS, used in my studio in college, and still wore out of college.

updated
These are the Gucci platforms I spoke of earlier. Can't you just feel the pain?

what was your favorite thing about living in new york? where do you live now? I still live in NY (sorta). I live in Hoboken, NJ now (but work in Manhattan) and I used to live in Brooklyn. I just love how everything is in your reach! Also all the great food and shopping.. Greatest city in the world.

if you could be doing anything right now, what would you be doing? I would probably have my own boutique. I am currently working towards that now and taking classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology on that subject.

when/if you have recurring nightmares/dreams- what are they usually about? Ooh the hard hitting questions! ;) I think they are usually about being late or running late. I am naturally an anxious person so I tend to over-worry. :(

kaykay
What is your fav. book? I have a lot of favorites but some recent new favorites are Perfume: Story of a Murderer by Patrick Suskind and the Harry Potter series. I generally spend most of my time reading non-fiction books about music and contemporary art.

If you could have one wish to come true what would it b? That's a hard one!

Are you married / or have a boyfriend? if so how long have you been together? Yes I have a bf I live with. We have been together 4.5 years.

Your hobbies? I would like to think I have tons but I wish I had more time for them. I paint, draw, play tennis, see art, hang out with my cats, and cook.

hotcocoa
what is your favorite museum to visit? why? I like so many for different reasons. As for NYC, I love the Frick. I love the idea that someone onced lived there. P.S.1 is very fun (also love the idea that it used to be a school). I guess I like it when not only the museum housing intersting work but also that the building But I always have a good time at most museums I visit.

what is your favorite recipe to make? The more complicated.. the more I want to make it. I am always up for a cooking challenge, but the recipes I make the most are usually simple and things that a lot of people like to eat. It changes with the mood or occasion, but I love making cookies and cakes.

my birthday was yesterday, when is yours? and what is the best birthday gift you've ever recieved? Yay HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Mine is coming soon. Dec. 8th!

laken1
Did your mom cook when you were growing up? She did but not so much. I think I really started learning how to cook when I lived by myself.

Favorite fast food restaurant - what do you order there? Oooh man! I LOVE regional fast food and local chains! This summer I went to Sonic in Springfield, MO and died with happiness. I love In N' Out Burger too! I usually just go for that restaurant's specialty.

Are you a cheapy bargain shopper or when you see something you love you'll get it no matter the price? Somewhere in between? I think I'm more to the latter. Just because I feel like you end up wasting money when you buy for bargain because you end up not really getting what you truly want. Lately, I am trying to cut back on the number of things I "love no matter what."

Lmonet
How tall are you? 5'3" maybe probably like 5'2.5

What's your least favorite thing about living in New York? I think it's the bubble you get trapped in... thinking that the world revolves around NYC!

Favorite Season? I love fall. The colors, the coolness, apple-picking!

Favorite Broadway show? I don't know. I don't really get psyched about Broadway the way others do. I did go see Avenue Q with my bf's parents and had a good time.

Would you rather be too hot or too cold? Really tough one. I would probably say cold.

When did you have your first kiss? With who? It was at Jewish pre-school (I'm not even Jewish). He was a boy in my class named Robbie.

stylechic17
Where do you get the inspiration from for your fashion ideas? I think mostly from street style. There are tons of style inspirations just walking the street in NYC! Although definitely not in my area where I live now... I guess that's one thing I miss about Brooklyn, people watching was so much better.

What is your favorite feature about yourself and how do you flaunt it? I like my lips. Sometimes I like to wear bright lipstick.

What fashion rules would u sugguest us to keep in mind? I would just say being overly trendy. I have been guilty of it.... Also serial shopping. I am always buying the same thing over and over again without realizing it. I will post examples later.

updated
just wanted to show you evidence of my serial shopping.

I own these patent leather green Sigerson Morrison flats... and then I bought these...

Also Sigerson Morrison but rubber skimmers... Help! What's wrong with me!!

How often do you shop? OMG confession time. I probably buy something at least a couple times a week.. but it's usually small like lunch, chapstick. As for clothes/shoes/bags, I probably buy a couple times a month but I don't think I've ever shopping spree'd before. I always wanted to do that though.. like that game show where they are in a frenzy to shop a supermarket!

NCshopper
What's the last thing you ate? Last night I ate Thanksgiving leftovers: turkey, creamed spinach, sweet potatoes with maple glaze, stuffing, mashed buttermilk potatoes, and cranberry sauce. Finished it with pecan pie my bf made.

What's the last thing you drank? I'm at work.. we have the cutest espresso maker so I had one from that.

What's your favorite alcoholic beverage? I love beer but usually try to drink whiskey when I'm out (for calories). I don't really like sweet cocktails. They give me a headache.

Fave non-alcoholic beverage? Fresca! Diet Coke! Diet Cherry Limeaide from Sonic! I also love apple cider, ginger and mint teas, and hot chocolate!!

What's your favorite thing to do on the weekends? Catch up with my bf. Even though we live together, we spend very little time together. Also trying to hang out with my parents... but mainly trying to relax.

Thanks girls I had so much fun answering these questions! :) :) :)

favorite place to travel on vacation I love traveling and wish I had more time and more funds to do so. I like being anywhere where I feel away or removed. I love Japan and France! I also have had excellent times during my trips to Puerto Rico.

favorite thing in your closet This black rayon dress my mother used to wear when she was my age, a little older than me. I used to play dress up in it.

what type of music do you like I guess rock..

describe your style I would like to think clean, mordern and urban, but living in a place with so many stylish people, it's very easy to feel unstylish at times.

if you didn't live in nyc, where would you live and why Maybe in Paris. I lived there for a short time while in college and loveeed it. My native French friend told me my accent was pretty good so maybe I would have survived in France! Either Paris or somewhere out west... where I could ride horses and live in open-ness. Myabe work on a ranch?

honey

I often feel like I "know" people on the board too! I worked in two contemporary art galleries. One in college as a part-time job and one after college for about 2 years. Even the big galleries have a small staff so I did a little bit of everything. Mostly my job was press-related. Then I went to work for a private family (this was my in-between job). Then I wanted to work somewhere less stressful. At that point I was breathing work and working 10-14 hours a day. I took a job at an investment firm (where I am now) because I wanted less stress and time to go to school. It was definitely was a huge change... work ethic wise and wardrobe wise! hehe But I am glad I now have the opportunity to go to school at night, take a vacation, and actually leave before prime-time tv. I am planning on getting my MBA soon. I also mentioned before that in the middle of a certificate program at FIT, which is really fun.

BrazenCanadian
what is your favorite movie? I love Blue Angel. Other favorites are Dressed to Kill, Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, Clueless. Growing up, I was brought up on comedy movies. My father only took me to see Police Academy movies and films starring Eddie Murphy, Chevy Chase, John Candy... ONLY!

'' '' band/music type? I said rock but I guess it's more indie & classic rock. I like Sleater-Kinney, Pavement, CCR, Rolling Stones, Built to Spill, T. Rex, the Kinks... I like Prince too.

What's in your purse? Nintendo DS in pink with Nintendogs!!!!!

and then the usual stuff... makeup, keys, ipod (2nd generation seriously vintage!).

bex
what is your favorite album? I go thru stages of liking one thing.. and then liking another (after I typed this out I realized that there is definitely a theme going on here with all the albums I named!) Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust by David Bowie, Electric Warrior by T. Rex, Chelsea Girl by Nico, Either/Or by Elliott Smith and.......

Arnold Schwarzenegger 's Total Body Workout!!!!!!!!!!!
YES! it's a real album! It's Arnie speaking over music.. instructing you on how to work out.

shopchicago33
What do you want for Christmas? I don't really care. I bought my first house this year and now I feel like I don't need more things... except maybe a new dresser.

What were you like in high school? I was Class President, Honor Society, band, arts club, homecoming queen candidate.. but I also cut school a lot, smoked and partied. I guess just normal.

Do you have any pets? If yes, what kind? If no, what kind of pet would you like to have? I have two cats. Noodle and The Little Guy (he only has one eye). I want a dog so bad but for now just my Nintendogs!

What's your favorite TV show? I love The Office, Strangers with Candy (although canceled), Petkeeping with Marc Marrone, Law & Order SVU. Shows I like but I'm losing interest in..... The OC, America's Next Top Model, Lost (I really don't like that Michelle Rodriguez character)...

Sorry I missed this question in my last response. Probably Andy Warhol, my grandfather (who I never met but he was a famous poet), andddddd.. a female to be boy/girl/boy/girl.. Got to think table-settings here! I'll think about it.

halleybird - you gotta check out that album. I was actually hanging out with cc when we discovered it. We were rolling on the floor laughing. I think cc actually burned a copy of it. You should ask her if she works out to it!!!

What career could you never do and why? I don't think I could ever be a vet. I think it's too heartbreaking... because of the sick animals but also I would feel such rage from neglectful owners.

If you could have any designer make you a dress, who would it be? oooh tough one. Maybe Karl Lagerfeld or Olivier Theyskens (who designs for Rochas).

Any secret celebrity crushes? Not so secret maybe!

Anthony Bourdain - author of Kitchen Confidential

Ewan MacGregor.... this one fades in and out (mostly out when a Star Wars movie is playing).

Jeremy Irons

Stephen Malkmus - ex-frontman of Pavement.. this one is fading.. I think because he is aging and I'm aging.

just to side track.. I found this weirdo picture of him while Googling him. Just thought I would share.

Found another with the same theme but not as ummm "stylized."

You have a cat, right? I hope I remembered that correctly. How old is it and what's its name? Yes, Noodle (Noodoo or Noodie) and The Little Guy (real name Hamilton). Noodoo is F-A-T. I have refered to her at times as the pot roast kitty. The Little Guy was rescued and has only one eye. He is still very smart and fast. Sometimes too smart.
