i braved the houston galleria today, and since NM usually has nice christmasy decorations, i stopped through to check out the scene. i was literally besieged by clerks in smocks the minute i walked through the beauty section. i didnt make eye contact, i didnt stop to try anything, and was actually walking fairly quickly- but still they converged! i am reluctant to even set foot in there again, much less buy anything from the beauty army. i understand it's their job, but BACK OFF! and don't even THINK of spraying me with that perfume....

had to rant. let me know when its safe out there again....

how funny!!  I was at the Galleria this afternoon also but I stayed on the other end - at Nordies.  They didn't seem to have a beauty army working today.  I'm curious now and want to check out NM and their army of people

i think neimans is going nuts on the beauty end.  they recently emailed out a survey about online beauty buying from their site and if i did it and why i didn't, etc., etc.  the whole thing made me think that they seemed really intent on bulking up that end of their business.

i don't have an opinion about all the neimans beauty people irl but the nars counter ones are really annoying--condescending and clueless at the same time.  like hello, i'm asking about an eyeliner brush, why are you showing me hydrating body serum?

Geez, I don't have a NM but I  sure wish when I went to Macy's beauty section they would come swarm me!   A couple days ago I went in to buy my favorite Estee Lauder lipstick in pink parfait.  The lady saw me there but I had to go to where she was wait and tell her what I wanted to buy.  Then seeing that I was actually buying instead of looking, she wanted me to buy the $46 makeup set valued at $200 which included the same lipstick I was purchasing.  I told her no thankyou, since I don't use those other items.  Then she was like, you can give them to somebody else.  No thank you even though that is a fabulous deal for only $46.  I didn't realize, but you have to purchase a perfume to buy that set for $46!  She was wanting me to spend $100 instead of $22!
