What do I do with this?

So, I'm cleaning out my closet today and stumble upon this dress.  I've had this dress for years and I think I've only worn it once to a frat party or something.  I got it on sale at Guess while I was in college.  What do I do with it now?  Any other outfit ideas besides the standard black strappy sandals?  (Please excuse the awkward pose...I was trying to get a pic as if I were wearing heels and I was about to fall over.  And please excuse the pasty white legs.  )

i like the dress, voted to keep it...but, i don't really know if i like the length. its the pattern that i like the most. is there any way that you can take it to a tailor (or do it yourself) to make it into a longer cami, like tunic length? that way you could wear it with pants and then shoes would be easy...blue or green or even the standard black like you said. i think that shortening it into a top somehow would be the best way to go.

What about a long black cardigan sweater and black boots/tights.

This is exactly what I was thinking.
