Hey guys,

Does anyone have a pair of trouser jeans they love? My Express Editors are too short to wear with anything but the flattest of flats. I know they theoretically come in "long" but I have never seen them in lengths at any Express store, and we all know you can't order online.

My only requirements are:

-dark w/minimal (or no) distressing

-at least 34" inseam

I love these juicy ones, but I'd prefer to not pay $200:

Juicy Couture Stretch Flare Trousers

Thanks!

I actually got some cute ones at Old Navy, they were the med. low rise ones, not the ultra low rise. HTH!

i got the perfect pair from the gap. yeah, i know the gap is suspect nowadays but these really are perfect. i don't often fit thier pants because i am a woman and have hips but these trousers are perfectly straight legged (as a trouser should be), perfectly dark, perfectly soft, and perfectly long. seriously, they are the best. i think that ive actually worn them every day since i bought them (cept when i cave and wash them). warning, they are running big and i went down two sizes, from a 8 to a 4. make sure you try them on in the store, or at least have one nearby that you can return the stuff too.

added later: i forgot, they are 58$! and plus gap online is buy one, get one half till the 27.

then you could get this sweater too, i want this in purple but for some reason it's only available online and the stupid site doesn't "recognize" my address, but old navy does. same company, what the heck?

I have a pair like these from A&F, they were on sale for $40 and they are super flattering. There's only size 4 left on the website though.

I bought two pairs of trouser jeans from Banana Republic and I love them.  I have the worst time finding jeans that are comfy and cute, but these fit the bill, and they are 20% right now.  They do run a little large, so you may want to size down.  They come in Long, too.

I haven't tried these on, but they look cute, too:

I second the Gap pair.  I have a pair of Gap trouser jeans from a few years back and I love them.  They've held up really well, have no distressing, and the color hasn't faded.  I think they'd be a good length for you too.

Thanks for your help, guys!

chic - I liked the Old Navy ones a lot! But they are way too short on me

DCShopper - I saw those BR ones yesterday and loved them! Unfortunately, they don't make long lengths in size 0 (see my rant in toasts & roasts), so I can't buy pants there. Boo.

jaymiek-I love those Abercrombie ones and I should have bought them when I had the chance. They are gone at my store too. Double boo.

relrel & NCshopper - I will check Gap today. I don't think that pair comes in long lengths, but sometimes I get lucky with Gap's reg. length.

If anyone else has any suggestions, let me know!

HB -I got a pair at Zara, do you have one near you? They are dark wash with slash pockets and a long enough inseam that I can wear them with heels. (I'm 5'10"). But they are more of a trouser style, they have a crease down the front and the pockets are sewn shut.

I think Zara rocks for pants for girls like us (beanpoles!) b/c they are cut long and lean.

HB, I would definitely try the Gap. I got a pair there as well, and I like them. Mine are regular length and they touch the floor (i.e. cover my shoe) when I wear 3" inch heels, and I'm 5'7", so you might have luck with the longs.

I am 5'7" too. Which ones do you have? Are they still there?

Brazen- I just posted in threadstyle about how much I love your Zara jeans! No Zara here, though.

I am not sure if they are still there - I got them about 4 months ago, maybe? I can't tell from the webiste which ones I have. The tag just says "Ultra Low Rise." They have the wider wasteband and straight leg. Sorry! HTH.

I like the Seven Miller trouser jeans.

I can wear them with flats or smaller heels (1.5 - 2 inches).  They are flared, so they are really comfy.  Though they were a bit of a splurge, they are dark enough to go out in.  There is a bit of subtle fading on the fronts of the thighs, but it looks much more exaggerated on line than on my pair in person.

The denim is so soft and comfy, and they are very flattering to the rear view!  I am a huge fan and wear them very often!

dammit! I went to Gap today and tried on all of these:

The first two fit me terribly, like Gap pants normally do -- they have way too much fabric in the hip/upper thigh area. They may have been long enough for 2" heels. The third pair fit GREAT but they were too short for anything but flats. They had a few sizes in "long" lengths at the store, but the SA said they did not make anything smaller than a 4 in long length for this style.

Arrrghh! I hate this. Every single freaking time  I try on pants, they're about 2" too short for heels. I wish I could just be 5'5" and then everything would fit.

I know you said your Express store doesn't have the Editor jeans in long lengths, but is there any way you can do a charge send or have your store locate them at another store for you and ship them to you ?  I know they'll do that.  I just think they are your best bet - you know they fit and I'm the same height as you, 5'7, and they are a perfect length on me - I can wear high heels w/them.  HTH!

I think I will have to do this. Do you think it will look weird to have 2 pairs of the same pants -- one for flats and one for heels? My store didn't have ANY denim editors today (except the short gaucho ones). I will wait until they go on sale, though -- I am not paying $70 for Express jeans!

my goodness gracious no! it's hard enough to find clothes that fit that well, if it works go with it. im actually thinking of buying another pair of the denim trousers from gap, then i would have two pairs of the exact same pants. actually, when i find a shirt that i really like i always buy lots of colors. now that i think about it, my closest would be much smaller without the duplicates in there.

are you on express's mailing list? somehow i got on it and im always getting coupons from them. ill keep an eye on my mail for coupons from them for you.

Oh my god no - I think it makes perfect sense! You have to stick to what fits.  And trust me, I have done this - bought one pair of jeans for flat shoes and then the same pair in a longer length for heels.  I have the trouser jeans in longs and I really think they'll work out for you

I love the Editor trouser jeans so much!  Definately wait for a sale though, since they go on sale all the time.  I actually think it is smart to buy one pair for flats and one for heels.  I do this all the time.

What about Theory? I think you can find them at Nordies. Honey bought me a pair at the last sample sale and they are beautiful!

Did anyone else get a coupon in the mail for Express?  There are two - one for 20% off and one for 15%.  They are good from Thursday until Sunday, I think.

Anyway, Halleybird, I think getting two pairs of editors is a great idea.  I have multiples of the same pants to wear with flats and heels.  I don't need the 15% off coupon, so PM me if you want it!
