i need to make a decision by 4. i need snow boots and have been looking for a pair since sept. i have yet to find something that i really love/want to pay for. i was looking at kors, but they're too pricey for to trudge through snow wearing. other than that i haven't really seen anything else that wasn't either sold out, or a complete abomination, and it's going to snow/sleet tomorrow.
on my quest i stumbled into a store that had ruby uggs on sale. they're the tall ones and around $70, but they are a final sale. i'm not opposed to uggs, but they weren't exactly what i wanted, so i'm not sure. should i buy the uggs, or am i just blinded by the sale/pending storm?
i know this is not what you are asking, but how about the new lace-up uggs? i bet you could find them on sale somewhere today, maybe bloomingdales or something?
oh man... i went through the SAME thing 2 years ago. i bought a pair of boots because i needed them the next day. it turned out to be fine in my case because i wear them only for heavy, sloppy snow days and i'm fine with it.
i think you should get them if they are truly going to serve their purpose. are they waterproof, warm enough etc.? (i'm sorry, i'm not familiar with uggs at all) if the answer is yes, then i think $70 is a small price to pay today for snugly-warm, stylish ruby red feet tomorrow.

that's how i stumbled upon the ruby ones. i went looking for the uptown lace-ups b/c i have a lord & taylor coupon. but they coupon wasn't good on them, and shopbop is sold out of my size (thanks oprah).
okay, now that i see a picture of them... i really say, "get them". i've never been a fan of uggs... maybe they are growing on me after all this time. i think it's the color... i can't believe i'm about to say this, "i love them!"
If they have your size, I would get them. I do like the ruby uggs and the tall ones would keep you nice and warm. For $70, they'll do the job. Just be sure to get a waterproofer to shield you from the snow.

Waterproofer needs to sit at least 24 hours. I have no idea about uggs, but i would tend to think that the salt and water will ruin the suede on the outside.
okay so i didn't get them. i didn't get a chance to hit up macy's and i'm going to there on friday. i like the last pair lmonet posted, and i'm going to try and hunt down the old navy ones too. thanks for all your help!
I think the ones LMonet posted from Target are darling. Impractical as they may be since I live in Texas, I might have to grab a pair. P.S. Cricket, that little guy is too cute and cracked me up. Your signature as well. I love Christmas Vacation!
Thanks! I love it too! I think we'll watch Christmas Vacation and A Christmas Story tomorrow night to kick off the holiday season!
My only concern with the Uggs is that they're not waterproof (I don't think). I would think after walking through the snow, you'd end up with pretty wet feet. The great thing about the Target ones is that the sole is a little thicker and so it'd keep your foot above some of the snow.
