I still wear them. They are comfy and look more put together than ratty old sweats any day. I don't care if they are in or out. I still like 'em.
ETA: I should note that I rarely wear them out of the house, but still think it's acceptable. Lately, my lounging around outfits have been the full-length, knit gauchos with a beater and a cardigan. Looks way more put together, imo.
I mix them, I wear my hoodies with other sweatpants and then my pants with a jean jacket. But I agree they do look better than ratty old sweatpants. I am glad that they aren't the typical airport outfit, but running errands...sometimes they are just a must!
They're not my thing, but I think it's okay for you to wear anything you want inside the house. I've never been a fan of people wearing them out and about, I guess I'm not that casual.

I will wear the suit to work out in, and if I'm just running errands in the neighborhood. I will break up the suit and wear the separates just about everywhere else.
i see people wearing them all the time--i think it's fine. as long as you are wearing them to the grocery store and the mall and not like, a dinner party, you will be fine. you always look put together and chic--you will be able to work it.
I love my velour sweatsuit. I wore it to school last week and everybody loved it! For some reason I reminded most people of J.Lo (compliment? ) They are so comfy. I actually have that on my Christmas list, one set of velour sweats!
haha - yeah-I'm not so into wearing them to dinner parties :)
I wear them around the house when I stay in at times so I am comfy but still look put together, occasionaly though I need to run a local errand and I just didn't want to have to change, I wantrd to make sure I didn't look like an old out of style mom!!
I have never personally liked the velor tracksuit, I guess I am a Abercrombie Sweats girl at heart. However, my mom looks hot in them- I know mom sounds bad, but my mom is only 43, and she is really a hottie :)
i love the velour sweatsuits but i rarely wear them together (as in the matching colours. i do put the jacket and pants together- just not matching the colors... i just can't do that for some reason)...
i usually wear my them on home office days and days i want to stay home all curled up and cozy...
