Article in San Jose Mercury News today said that some shoppers had waited in line all night for the store to to open. When the doors opened, over 1,000 people were waiting in line. It sounded like there wouldn't be much left to buy today!

I'm also interested in hearing from anyone who was there.

I decided not to go for a few weeks after hearing about how crazy the Stella launches were.  I'm anxious to hear from anyone who went.

I didn't go, but they had some stories on the news about it. One channel said the line was 4 city blocks long, and people started lining up at 4 AM. They showed the ribbon cutting, and then people started pushing their way in.

I didn't want to risk my life just to go there opening day!

I went!  Got to the Powell street one at 8am and there was already over 250 ppl there.  So left to go to the Post st one and ended up being 80'ith in line.  They were giving 20% off to the first 200 ppl (but it wasn't good on the stella line).  There was a line to get in all day saturday and on sunday.  Absolutly insane.  People were pushing, shoving and grabbing anything and everything they could get there hands on.  At one point I couldn't move at all and I got my glasses knocked off my face and almost broken.

I was able to get some of the stella stuff I wanted.  But the zip sweater which is the main thing I wanted I couldn't grab in time in my size.  I got it in a Medium and I need it in a small/Xsmall.  I started another thread on this but if anyone has it in a small size but would like it in a medium please let me know.  I'd be willing to pay for shipping.

Soulchic,  there was some stella stuff left on sunday and there were a lot of returns.  You could check it out and maybe still find some stuff.  There were mostly trench coats and large sizes of the black pants last I saw.

whew, i'm so glad i didn't go.  i can't shop that way- shopping is supposed to be fun!  crazed crowds just kill the experience for me.

i did walk by the store on powell at 10:00pm on saturday night (on my way home from seeing "walk the line"- very good!).  my friend and i asked the security guard at the door what time the store closed- he said it closed at 9:00 but there were still people shopping an hour later!  he said they didn't expect the store to clear out for another hour or so.  geez....
