I can't stand DMB either. Until I read the posts in this thread, I seriously thought my bf and I were the only ones in the whole world who weren't head over heels for DMB.

Now I know we're not alone! YES!!!

It's cheesy and sounds HORRIBLE! I'm not a fan of emo either, and although I don't like the DMB, I did like Dave Matthew's solo album. OMG - you're right - this is the worst song/video ever.  What is so funny is that I asked the band I love that I got to meet and interview last week who they thought was the worst artist from Chicago and they answered R. Kelly and then the lead singer burst out in song singing "Stuck in the Closest" which was hilarious!

Ha, my friend and I are obsessed with "Stuck in the Closet" just for entertainment value.  It's so random and weird--just one of those songs that you love even though it's awful.  "I'm in the cloooset..."

I totally agree, I like them before they became mainstream.

But I don't really listen to radio or pop music, because it's trash. Especially mainstream hip-hop, . So I guess most of the songs out there are my least favorite. Maybe I'm getting old. Where has all the talent gone?

awww, boo! I love SOAD. I just saw them in concert and they were amazing (in my humble SOAD-loving opinion). But I can understand how some people might not like them. (Now you all know that secretly love metal!)

Anyway, I hate any country song by that tubby brunette chick, "Redneck girls" and that other one about being all "Jacked Up". In fact I hate new country music. And most Hiphop and "R&B" (why is it that new R&B has neither rhythm or blues?) except Kanye. If 50 Cent comes on I MUST change the channel immediately. Also Hilarie Duff and whatsherface American Idol girl make me want to stab myself in the eardrum.

Nickleback are our "hometown pride" but they make me want to burn my town to the ground.

I must have REALLY bad taste in music! I love DMB, My Humps (and I am a huuuge BEP fan), and System of a Down (you really should read their lyrics, you would be surprised). But to each her own I guess ;)

I'm really not liking Mariah Carey's songs right now. Ew.

Haha...I am at a conference and was in my hotel room last night and somehow got sucked into this show on VH1 where they played the first 1-5 then 6-8 parts of the video for In the Closet and gave explanations for it.  I actually got into it and was upset when I didn't get to see how it ended.  Apparently, there are more than 8 parts to it.

Yes, it was a great episode.  I believe they will repeat it sometime tonight/early tomorrow or tomorrow night.  It was on before I heard of the In the Closet video.  It wasn't until I saw that show on VH1 last night that I totally understood what they were making fun of.  I knew R. Kelly had a video called that, but just thought it was a regular video.

What? You don't like girls who wear Abercrombie and Fitch?!

No, really, I totally agree-- the lyrics are ridiculous.

Haha this is funny. I like a lot of this stuff. Well, I mean I don't like it, but you can't beat a little LFO for 8th grade nostalgia. My feeling is that a lot of music is just so bad I can't even judge it, just enjoy it.

ETA: I forgot my least-favorite song of all time: that Toby Keith "Angry American" song. I find the lyrics very disrespectful to a lot of the innocent people killed in places like Afghanistan.

I hate anything Chris Cornell does (what's the name of his band now?). He is a whiny idiot -- I once bought tickets for one of his solo shows a few years ago and he refused to play. Instead, he came out and complained about how the promoters didn't buy him the right kind of wine, so he wasn't going to perform so now I can't stand him.

More songs I hate:  I'm with you on "My Humps." So gross and degrading. I also hate The Verve's "Bittersweet Symphony" -- I cringe any time it comes on. Oh, and "Zombie" (Smashing Pumpkins?). I once had a bad nightmare where that song was playing.

I don't think Smashing Pumpkins have a song called Zombie. Do you mean the song by the Cranberries? The main part is "In your head, in your head, zombie, zombie, zombie..." and it's sung by a woman...

I just had to add myself to the list of R Kelly "Trapped in the Closet" haters. I laughed my ass off at SouthPark (although I didn't think it was so terrible as to warrant a CNN article) & then I saw this week's installment of Best Week Ever. Apparently the new Trapped in the Closet thing has something about a midget poo-ing in his pants? There was real footage from the video so I'm believing it - am I just gulliable? If it's true, that is the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

OMGGGGG i HATE this song.  I think its a joke that Rivers is playing on us.  I really do.  Its SO cheesy, and sounds like Rivers is mocking a typical radio song- that part where he's like, "And I just don't belong", in that speaking voice, shudder.  I've heard Kelly Clarkson lyrics that were less cliche.  like thinking, "hmmm, i'm going to write my crappiest song ever, and its going to be on the radio, and everyone will LOVE it, *cackles*"  Has anyone ever read an article about him?  I read a Rolling Stones article- he is a WEIRD dude, but his older songs are original and painfully heartfelt.

might i add- i'm not even a music snob nor a huge oldskool Weezer fan.

Oh, and I also hate a lot of music listed, Creed, lots of mainstream hip hop/rap, lots of country or sappy love songs, DMB- i do like a few of his older songs, but now they all sound the same.

I think the only thing that causes my ears to bleed is anything by Creed (but most especially With Arms Wide Open and that song from the next album that I don't even remember the title to). Oh, and Mambo No. 5....I am NOT doing anything with Lou Bega...ewwwwwwwwwwww

Oh I really like Chris Cornell as a singer, I have heard he can be a real prick though, my local rock radio station can't stand him after a certain interview.

Ok, I have to say My Humps is the only song really bugging me right now, and I am only a fan of a few Black Eyed Peas songs anyway.

I am actually liking Nickleback's latest song but only because it reminds me of my little brother and his bad high school buddies who were all kicked out of high school in the late nineties.  Now, like the lyrics go, he's in a band and he's kind of got his life together and can look back with some wisdom.
