Thoughts on J. Crew trouser jeans and other sale stuff?
Permalink Closed

Would love to hear thoughts on these lovely items.

Does anyone own the J. Crew trouser jeans? Would they be dresy enough to pass as trousers at work? How does sizing run? I'm probbly a 27 in stretch Seven/TR/etc. etc. and a 4 at Abercrombie if that helps.

$59.99

I think I'm Harry Potter-ing out myself. Is this healthy?

$19.99

I ordered those trouser jeans in a 4 regular. I usually wear a 28 in nonstretch Seven and COH jeans. I'm also a size 4 at BR. The jeans were pretty big on me and baggy in the butt area. I think I would have been better off sizing down to a 2. This post reminds me that I still need to exchange them.

I prefer to think of it as Gryffindor-ing out myself.

gypsyfreak: sounds like we're pretty much the same size...thanks for the tip. Were the jeans kind of dressy? (I have a horrid monitor at work and can't tell if there's any fading or whatnot)

Lilykind- Before you order them, let me go home and try them on again. If you want, I can take some pics for you. The jeans were darker IRL. In fact they are darker than the picture on the website. They're also a lightweight denim.

LOL, those are USC colors, right? I was looking at them thinking, "Ewww....ASU!"

Love the jeans though.

i own a pair of the trouser jeans. they run a little big so i would size down. the wash is pretty dark so you might be able to get away passing them off as trousers for work.

Lilykind, I don't know if you are opposed to ON, but I got a great pair of trouser jeans there about a week ago.  They have a wash that is a really dark navy that I think would be good for work.

I guess I'm not opposed to ON, but whatever I buy from there has to be really cheap (like under $20) because of the quality factor. And because I'm in LA, all the SMALL sizes run out. I think I'm a 2/4 at ON and I can never find anything below a size 10 without going on a massive dig. I may give it a shot this weekend though, thanks for the tip!

I tried on the jeans again. They fit a little better this time because I think I've gained some weight. They fit very comfortably. However, they are a little loose at the thigh area. I would like them to be fitted on me, but they're not. I still think I would have done better if I sized down. Is it possible for you to order them in different sizes so you can compare them for yourself? I'm not sure if my description is helpful for you, so feel free to ask me any questions.

As for the wash, my pair does not have the fading at the thigh.

BLAH! I tried on the touser pants IRL at the J. Crew store and they fit funky in the front! Wah! They were perfect too!

I guess I will be tommy trojan-ing myself out tonight.

And yes, Halleybird, those are USC colors. They were also my colors when I was in high school...it just turns out that maroon/plummy/burgundy tones look good against my skintone so I gravitate towards them naturally.
