I haven't gone a lot, but I remember there were good prices on big bottles of olive oil and I found a couple of books for a bargain. And they had some diamonds

Everyone tells me the meat and fish are priced really great. So if you live close enough or you can take a cooler that might be worth it!!

What DON'T I get there should be the question!  I have a membership to both Sam's and Costco and I like Costco sooo much better.  Stuff I buy there (keep in mind I have two small children )  Grapes, mushrooms, lettuce, apples, asparagus, paper towels, TP, sponges, cereal, canned green beans & tomatoes, Bisquick, artichoke hearts, salsa, peanut butter, jelly, milk, yogurt, chicken nuggets, frozen spinach/mozzerella ravioli, frozen veggies, Eggos, crackers, soap, shaving cream, Advil, Tampax, bread, booze, beer, beef, chicken, pork, cheese, soup, salads, my kid's birthday cakes, assorted Christmas crap lately, books, DVD's, my cookware set, etc.  I spend WAY too much money there, but I am so rarely dissapointed, and if I am, I just prance in there and ask for my money back, and they refund it without a problem.  They are sooo good about refunds, even on food and even without a receipt.  I'm going there this week to take back some insulated tumblers that I didn't like (2 fell apart).  I bought them last summer and I know they'll take them back w/out a problem.  I Costco!!!!!!!!

ETA:  It's not as much the price for me (although that's important), it's the quality.  Their meat is superb and I'm just almost never dissapointed with anything I buy there.

Keep in mind that I'm a 20something with a BF. Even though there are things we can't get at Costco...we still buy a ton of stuff.

  • Meats/Fish...great value for the high quality of food. Just freeze what you won't use immediately.

  • Alcohol, especially beer (Corona is around $22 for 24 bottles!)

  • Paper Towels

  • Produce...keeps well and is really cheap considering the quality. We buy apples, pineapples, oranges, grapes, blueberries, tomatoes, carrots, lettuce, salad mix, stir-fry veggies...so much stuff!

  • Clothes...good for basics...my local Costco sometimes has brands like AG and Diesel on sale.

  • Water

  • Toiletries (I buy my Aveeno here....so much cheaper thant drugstore or Target! I also get shaving cream and razors from here)

  • Toothpaste/toothbrushes/dental floss

  • Makeup (Hit or miss, but I just bought a tube of YSL Faux Cils for $16...that's $10 less than I'd pay at Bloomies for the same thing.)

  • Big-ticket items like televisions.

I have gone a few times.  I really can't buy any of the food stuff since it's just two here.  I like the two pack children's Mortin, large size Tide and Downy, and of course you can have lunch by eating all the samples!  Some of the furniture and housegoods is pretty good too.
