Lip balm?
Permalink Closed

A guy I work with has seriously chapped lips and he wanted to know if I knew of anything that worked really well to lock in moisture and help prevent chapping in the future. He tried Blistex and didn't like it -- he said it smelled awful and didn't even work.

As long as it's not tinted, I think he'll go for just about anything, as long as it's in a stick form and not in a little pot.

Any suggestions for him?

Thanks!!

Burt's Bees!!!!!!!!  I swear by it.  And it's not girly!  When you put it on it is pepperminty and makes your lips really cold, then it like numbs them so you can't feel any pain.  It makes them really soft too.  http://www.burtsbees.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10751&storeId=10101&productId=16459&langId=-1&categoryId=&showSubCategory=yes

I like Neosporin LT (Lip Treatment). It treats those chapped parts as a cut and heals them up instantly!

Body Shop vitamin E lip balm. It has a very faint smell, is not tinted, and it is nice and thick!

I like l'occitane pure shea butter lip balm. Jack Black lip balm works well too and it's marketed towards men(if he cares about that type of thing).

The best stuff in the entire world is Dr. Dan's. It was formulated by a dermatologist especially for accutane patients and those with severly chapped lips. You can get it at a dermatologist or through his web site, http://www.drdanslipbalm.com/ I was on accutane a couple of years ago and it was the only thing that worked. It's not girly in the slightest (not scented, comes in a little chapstick-like stick). HTH!

ETA: On his site, he gives a big description of the ingredients, why they work, etc. He also offers a complete refund if you try the balm and aren't happy!

I swear by Cococare Cocoa Butter lip balm.  It's $.99 and you can get it at walgreens.  I found it last year when I had really bad chapped lips.  I tried tons of stuff and this works.  And for $.99, it doesn't hurt to try.

Rosebud Strawberry Lip Balm is my fave.  It lasts forever too.
