another fabric question--updated

UPDATED:  I was surfing around Pinterest today and came across this Missoni dress.  It gave me some inspiration so I went ahead and ordered this fabric I posted about below.

Missoni

ORIGINAL POST:

Thanks so much ladies for all the help you have given me on my previous fabric questions.  I hope I don't drive you crazy with them but I have another one.  I am very drawn to this sweater knit that is on sale at fabric.com.

Sweater Knit Zig Zag Pink/Lavender

It is so pretty.  What do you think of it?   If you like it, do you think it would look good made into a sweater dress?  Or should I just stick to a longer cardigan?  Thanks.

I like the idea of that fabric by itself so I vote for sweater dress. If it were a cardi, I would have a hard time coming up with multiple ways to match it, but that's just me.

Are the zig zags running vertically or horizontally? I'd be worried that a sweater dress would show any imperfections on me personally. I have 2 sweater dresses and feel more comfortable in the solid colored one over the stripped one. My striped sweater dress has horizontal stripes which does help camouflage any small budges created by tights or a bra (even with a slip, sweater dresses aren't always forgiving.) If the zig zags are running vertically, I'd worry that those budges would be pretty noticeable.

If it were a stiffer material, I'd vote dress in a heartbeat. It's such a happy Spring-like pattern. It sort of reminds me of candy hearts or Easter candy (in a good way!!!!)

I think it would make a nice baby blanket.
