D.C. shopping?

I'm going to Washington DC for Thanksgiving and am planning on going shopping in the city on the Friday following. Can anyone give me suggestions as to where some good areas would be for shopping? (clothes) I'm not too familiar with anything other than the Smithsonian area. Thanks!

Hi! I think georgetown is the best shopping area in DC. It has all the normal "mall" stores like banana and gap, but some cute boutiques mixed in like blue mercury and wink. If you venture further up north on Wisconsin Avenue out of the georgetown madness, there are even more cute boutiques like urban chic and sassanova.
