Please pardon my dumb question but I will be a bridesmaid in my friends wedding in a few months and we are buying off the rack dresses. She just informed me that she wanted us to choose a "sage" green dress. There are so many shades of green out there that I am not exactly sure what sage means?
Imagine the colour of these pants was a can of paint. Now imagine mixing in about 1/8 of a can of white paint. That would = sage. It's a subdued green, not bright or dark at all. I don't know if this helps, if I see anything in an actual sage I will post it.
EDIT: This is described as "sage" - I would say it needs a little more yellow/dusty tone to be sage but it's close (also, it depdns on what monitor I am/you're using:

Yeah - the green squares - that's sage. The second pic (the dress) posted above looks pastel, not sage, to me, and both of the samples below look to be sage. Sage is mainly a dusty colour, to me. The green equivalent of that old favourite "dusty rose". Ha ha, I bet I am making this much worse!

Here are some color samples that are supposed to be sage. My monitor sucks so it's hard for me to determine if they are accurate but Mia's description is good.

I think the one on the right looks like my definition of sage.
