*UPDATE*


Okay, I emailed Handmaid and they called me back (less than 15 minutes later!).  She went back to the warehouse to dig up and compare bags, and she said that the leather on the brown one does have a slightly more matte finish to it and that the leather is more crinkly.  The black is slightly shinier and the leather is smoother, but the thickness of the leather on the brown and black bags is the same.


Sorry to beat a dead horse here, but this is by far the most expensive purchase I've ever made!  She also said they accept returns and exchanges no problem, but I'd like to avoid that if at all possible.


Should I just go for the brown, and then worry about what color to get the Tano in if/when I have the opportunity to get it?





Can't pass up a 35% off code, now can I !  Or should I skip the Handmaid altogether and get a Tano?  If/when I get the Tano, it will be brown.

i voted Tano just cause i know you've been wanting badly for a while now and if you can get it then get it. though the other bag is pretty and i like it too, dont just get it cause of the coupon unless you love it more then the tano bag.


 


now if only someone can find me a coupon for the bag i finally decided to get!

Get the brown or black regular Hand Maid (which base color do you tend to wear more of - black or brown?) The plain ones are more classic than the studs which could possibly date the bag.

You know you want that bag, and thanks to Hbird, 35% is just too awesome to pass up!

Brown Handmaid, no studs.  All the way.  The studs aren't doing it for me at all and I think you'd get tired of them pretty quickly.


ETA:  What website carries Handmaid bags.  I'm looking at all of the usual suspects (active endeavors, shopbop, etc.) and can't find them.

I really like the bag in brown, but I think if you're going to get the Tano in brown eventually, why not go for the black Hand Maid??

Either color will be beautiful. Make sure to let us know your decision, and post a review when you get it!
