I would say that my best purchase recently was my brown cardi-wrap by Vertigo from Marshall's for like $30. It used to cost way more, and is reflected in the quality. yaay I love great finds.
Detroit-mind sharing which TJ Maxx you go to? Pretty please...
the one in Bloomfield Hills - Telegraph and Square Lake - they don't always have this caliber of stuff in stock, but they get the occasional shipment...

Gucci Jackie O sunglasses at Ross for $30. I have had them for 4 years and they just broke.... So since they are gone I also got a Marc Jacobs scarf at Filene's Basment for $2.
Seven A-pocket cords for $16 at T.J.'s Zipper was broken, my mom just yanked on it and voila!
And lovely silk chiffon Laundry dress with a $280 price tag for around $25. Also at T.J.'s.
But I go weekly to both TJ Maxx and Marshall's, and buy something maybe once every two months. So the proportion of finds vs. failures is very, very low.

Prada boots for $150 (orinigal $550) at Barneys CoOp
My T.J.Maxx gets in these insanely expensive things. And where I live, people don't recognize the brands, so they sit on the shelves. Luckily for my, my size is an easy find then!!
Black Tahari sleeveless shell $24.99 at TJ Maxx (still had orig. $200 tag on it!)
Hudson destroyed denim mini with messed up zipper at Ross. $29.99 (It was still on Revolve Clothing for 129.99 at the time. If I had better legs, I would've toatally kept it)
I guess I have more luck with scores at department stores ($275 Betsey Johnson dress for $25 and $350 Michael Kors pumps for $85 are my best so far)
Since I'ma regular at the downtown flea markets, I get great stuff from the dealers. One woman sells everything for 10 dollars or under and she almost always gets vintage Ferragamo's in my size and saves them for me. The last two pairs have been the best: black patent leather with a gold detail above the toe ($7), and black suede with black patent leather toe and silk ribbon connecting them.
