2 minutes? if that. I live literally right next to the mall. The side door of Nordies is right across the alley from my back door. dangerous, I tell you!
most are about 10-30 mins. saks is a 10 min drive, but parking downtown is a bitch. urban is a 20 min drive from me, and there are a lot of great shops that have popped up a few blocks near urban. my favorite shoe store in the city is 2 blocks from my work, and it's bad news being that close. (usually i just don't go in because it's too tempting) anthro is about 30 mins and a really cool mall that i like is about that distance as well.
in my neighborhood, we are seriously lacking, but there was a vintage furniture shop that just opened up that i still haven't checked out yet, so maybe...
20 min. to Oak Park mall/Plaza/Town Center (in Kansas City). We've got BR, Gap, J. Crew, BCBG, Anthropologie, Express, A&F, VS, A&F, Hollister, White House/Black Market, Ann Taylor, Bebe, and all the other little mall stores.
I have what I consider 1 really expensive good mall, 1 reasonable but good mall & 1 "ok" mall 15 minutes from me in 3 different directions. To go into Dallas proper where the really good stuff is that I can't afford anyway is 30-45 minutes, depending on which area I'm going to. There are great boutiques all over, from 15 minutes to...hell, i don't even know because in 1 1/2 years I still haven't made it to all of them. SIGH. No wonder I'm broke

I have a terrible mall that is 12 minutes away. The only good stores are AE, B&BW and Macys. Even that Macys doesn't carry the good stuff. Seattle Premium outlets is about 18 minutes away. I have to drive 45 minutes to Seattle for better shopping at a good Macys or Nordstroms and all the other stores.
