I need to vent to someone! We were having lunch with the secretary in her office, and heard some strange noises coming from the boss' office, but we didn't know if we could come in his office b/c the door was closed, and he wouldn't answer when we knocked or called him on the phone. When we finally entered, he was laying on the froor, semi-unconscious. Then he wake up and started to say something, but he didn't make any sense. The ambulance took him away and a colleague is with him, so I am gonna call him later, but I can't concentrate on work right now, I keep thinking about this. It's really sad, he is one of the smartest persons I have ever meet, I don't want this to be bad!
you poor thing, how awful! good thing it wasn't after hours and you were there to call the ambulance! if i were you i would ask to go home (or to the hospital to check on him)... how can you be expected to work w/ that kind of stress?

I am not expected to work, nobody is really forcing me (and my boss would never say anything about this!) and several people already left. I don't think it's a good idea to go to the hospital right now, I'd have to wait there; I'll go tomorrow.
I thought about going home, but I don't know if it could make things worse, doing nothing and just thinking! I am staying here until 3:30, then the secretary is gonna call the guy who is with my boss, and she'll tell me what happened; I'll go home then. If no news, I'll try to call the guy myself later. It's just that... I want him to be allright!!!
That's so terrible!! I'm so sorry for your boss. It's really great that you care so much about him. Just surf the net and try to keep your mind off of it until you find out how he's doing. Worrying won't help, even though I know that's easier said than done.
well, the guy who was with him came back. He says the paramedics on the ambulance asked if he (boss) always swears so much, so I guess he's getting back to normal . And he recognized the guy who was with him, so good sign.
They are doing tests on him, now, and if my colleague goes back to hospital to visit him tonight, I'll call him. We hope it's just a big warning that he has to slow down and take care of himself. He is sooo enthusiastic about his job that he forgets about himself!
Luckylili: I am glad we were nosy enough to get into the room! I have decided: being shy and timid doesn't get you anywere, being daring is the way to go! Bluebirde: yes, I have been surfing the webonly thing I could do!
i just read this and im SO glad hes doing better! i hope he takes care of himself now. is he married? maybe the wife will help..... yeah, he's married but he's getting divorced. His younger son is giving them problems too. And he loves his work and never rests. I think all those things add up...
Got a phone call last night. They did MRI, and it seems to be no brain damage . Today they'rwe gonna check if it is a heart problem. I'l try to go see him sometimes today and/or tomorrow.
Gosh, that was scary! He's a prof at the university, so his brain is his "best asset". It was sad hearing him talk and not making any sense.
