Has anyone gone yet? I went this morning and, as expected, the line was around the block. People had been waiting since 8 (it opened at 10) which I just couldn't face doing since it is really cold today. The racks were cleared within minutes because people were just grabbing like 20 hangers at once. They brought out more of a few items but then announced that they wouldn't be restocking today so people started pulling clothes of the mannequins! I lurked around for a while hoping that people would abandon things near the registers or dressing rooms but no such luck. The only thing I was really interested in was the giant sweater thing so the main reason I went was to try to get the raspberry dress for bumblebee but I didn't see either one. I kept looking to see what people had and it didn't seem like those were put out. I guess I'll keep trying!

HOLY COW! i just came back.. i was at the flagship on fifth avenue. i got there before 10 and there was literally NOTHING on the first floor. they said they would be restocking at 11am.. but i was told stuff wouldn't hit the floors until later in the day (due to the insanity.. most of the staff is on the floor breaking up the cat fights!).

i couldn't buy anything that i wanted. there was absolutely nothing. i just picked up random pieces here and there but pretty much everything pictured on the website was gone before i even got there.

girls were walking around with their arms full and no one was letting go of anything. i tried to go into the fitting rooms to see if there were any leftovers... NOTHING! i heard most people say that they would just buy whatever and sort out it out at home...

i really wanted that black wool coat :(

i might go back after work and see if it got any calmer or if there is anything left.. but i was seriously shocked. most of the karl lagerfeld stuff was in stores for weeks.. i doubt that will happen in this case.

I really wanted a few of the things on the site, including that coat, but I couldn't bear to go to downtown crossing today and face the mob. I hate it when girls get scary and mean over clothes.

dot - did you see either the big zip sweater or the raspberry dress? I carefully looked at what people were carrying and didn't see either one. They had lots of the yellow studded cami and the blue and cream ones, the wrap dress in blue and beige, the chiffon blouse, some of the printed shirts. I guess I saw some people with jeans too.

i *just* came back. there was nothing. literally there were empty hangars were clothes were supposed to be. the sa at the 34th & 7th street location said they would be re-stocking at 1 pm, so i'm going to try again...

I WISH! i really wanted those things. the girls who had knitwear in their hands were there at 8am. i spoke with a lot of people and the ones with the goods were there early. i was told by several sa's that the flagship on fifth would be physically getting the most merchandise, but it probably gets the most foot traffic too. the entire first floor was devoted to stella and it was just empty racks by the time i left.

should have taken the day off.

Oh my God!  Too bad you weren't in my neighborhood.  Here's a quick recap:

- got there at 9:30 because I refused to wait more than 30 minutes out side (they told me they were opening at 10).

- the store opened at 9!  Eeeeeek!  Dumb SAs!!

- so I went in, and even after missing the opening by 30 min, I was able to get all the sizes I wanted to try on.  There were about 20 of us, and everyone was really cool and laid-back.  No cat fights!!

- the bad news: IT DIDN'T HAVE THE WHOLE COLLECTION!!  They only had certain items, and NOT the aqua dress I wanted.  Or the black bow jacket.  People were mad.

- all the jeans were gone, but I waited a few minutes by the dressing rooms and got my size right away.  They were cute, but just not my style.

So, I ended up getting the wrap dress in cream, the navy camisole, a printed tee and printed tank top (and the cream v neck sweater for detroit).

I could have gotten more, but wasn't in love with anything.

I have my older brother going to downtown crossing at 2 pm to try and get me the black bow jacket, the pink dress, or the tulip skirt. I am like this right now.

Wow, with all the madness at the established H&M stores, I can't imagine what it's going to be like next weekend at the new SF store openings! I don't think I'll bother going for a few weeks, once they're restocked after the mayhem!

good lucky lilykind.  i just saw someone listed the tulip skirt in a 4 on ebay, if your brother doesn't find it.  you're lucky--if i asked either of my brothers to do that, i would be able to hear them laughing all the way in LA.

Oh no! Don't say that.  I'm making a road trip to SF just to go to the opening. I plan to be there waiting no later then 8am.  Do you think they will have the entire stella line shown on their site?  Some of you girls said they didn't in the NY stores.  Was it because it was already sold out/they were just holding off on the good stuff?

I need the sweater dress, skinny jeans + pants, and wool coat.  Has anyone actually been able to buy any of these items? Quality? Reviews? Prices?

Ahhh, sorry guys I need to know everything?  I can't wait another minute!

I went to the one in DC, the section for stella was so so small, I d say maybe 1/16 of the whole store! I was very disappointed.  I tried on the dress and the coat. I really liked the coat but the wrap dress makes me feel like i m wearing a silk bathrobe. I dont really see much others  just plenty of tank tops and camis left.. scarves.. thats pretty much it.  I doubt they had a full line provided there. I m very disappointed. I was hoping to grab a tulip skirt, sweater, trousers with tie on the bottom, and lastly a bow jacket!

by the way, i went around noon. I had an appointment in the morning.

I tried on the skinny jeans, and they're cute, I'm just not that into the jeans-as-leggings look.

The wool coat is beautiful!  Very good quality, IMO

Also, stylechic, the DC store will be getting more tulip skirts and v-neck sweaters with the satin trim.  It might be worth going back this weekend.

It was all over the place, so it's probably better if I give sizing by piece.  Picture these items on a 5'9" girl who wears a 4 or 6 at banana

- jeans: ULTRA small, the 8 fit me

- trench: HUGE, I tried on XS and I was swimming in it.  I mean, I know it's supposed to be lose, but it was gigantic.

- tops: TTS/slightly big, I got the cami in a 4 and tees in S, XS

- wrap dress, wool coat, tuxedo blazer: TTS

I went to the DC at 10:00 and, to my surprise, there were people already in line paying for items. I didn't know they opened at 9:00 today!

There wasn't any pushing or name-calling...actually, people were very polite and weren't grabbing like mad. There were several ladies in line with LOADS of stuff, obviously to re-sell on ebay.

I overheard one woman arguing with the manager over the return policy...she had just bought $900 worth of stuff for "gifts" and said the girl at the counter told her she could return after christmas for a refund. Apparently, you can only get store credit after that long.

I got the brown/dark olive green trench (LOVE the fit, but had to get XS so it wouldn't swallow me whole), black wide leg trousers (so nice), black tulip skirt with pockets (great fit on), the metal mesh belt and the blue sweater with satin trim (again, XS fit me and I'm usually a Medium at H&M).

All of the bottoms ran true to size, but the tops were HUGE and obviously meant to drape and big large. I wanted the black v-neck sweater, but will have to wait for the next shipment.

The Stella tissue paper, lotion in a tiny bag and hangers were a nice added bonus!

Has anyone bought or seen the oversized zip up dress sweater? I'm wondering if SF stores will even be carrying that item before I make the trip. And I can't even call in adavance bc they open that same day!! Only if we had an HM here

I went to the 5th avenue store on my way back from running errands. It was picked pretty clean but they had a lot of some things left (mainly in large sizes though) - the black sweater, the light blueish green one, the blue studded cami, one of the printed shirts, the black skirt. I snagged the blue silk wrap dress in a 38 thinking it might fit me but when I looked at the H&M tag they translated that as an 8. I swear I thought I was usually a 36-38 in Euro sizes - in fact I'm wearing a French skirt right now and it's a 36 and I'm a US size 0. Anyway, I didn't try it on and figured I could return it but it's already listed on ebay and going for well over the retail price so maybe I'll try that.

Still no sign of the raspberry dress or the zip sweater. They have the zip sweater in windows but I have yet to see one on a rack or in someone's hands!
