but i looked at these "bedroom transformations" and threw up a little in my mouth. Some of these are so tacky! I'd understand if it was people that didn't know better or for a hotel room in vegas, but i can't believe they hired someone to do this!
they're not ALL terrible i guess. But they are all so matchy matchy- like they took one theme and went wayyyy too crazy with it. Even on the one that is ok that you pointed out Lilykind, they had to match the bench, the pillow on the bed, and the two chairs all in the same fabric. Maybe this was the "themed hotel room" edition of trading spaces?
Do you think I should install a Genevieve alarm on my house? This one is the most disgusting...
The eyes and lips....CREEPY! And what is with those lamps, very yellow chairs, the hat boxes look like they are going to fall off the wall. That after bed looks so cheap, the four poster bed was lovely. They should only have painted the walls and put new bedding up.
I think what I find most disturbing about that Dali room is that it looks like you'd be sleeping on a tongue sticking out of the lips. The lamps are like blusher...

creepy!
it also reminds me of pee-wee's fun house for some reason. evern creepier.
I remember watching almost all of those episodes and hating all of the makeovers -- except, of course, for one: Laurie's. She is amazing, always tasteful, and very sensitive to what the homeowners want. The rest of them I wouldn't let near my house! They don't care about who they're decorating for, they just do what they think is cool.
I remember seeing the episode where Hildi did the Tiffany room (the one with the white spray painted on blue) I watched with a dropped jaw I thought it was so hideous.

I remember watching the episode with the Tiffany room and I was horrified! And the Dali inspired room is the most frightening thing I've ever seen. Seriously, it's heinous.
