how do you dress?
Permalink Closed

The past week where I live it has been between 80 and 85 and humid (south alabama).  This week has been the same and next week is predicted to be around 80.  I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Anyway, how do you dress for the fall season with weather like this?  It is too hot for even the thinnest long sleeve cardigan.   It has been a long time since I remember it being this bad.  Last year in November we were in the mid 70's, which I thought was terrible, but we have just had record breaking temperatures this month.  I can see that I desperately need to get creative and invest in some transitional clothing for the months of Oct and Nov.  Any ideas?  I would love it you ladies would post some ideas?  I teach in a community college so most anything goes.  Thanks.

Oh, I feel your pain! It was 90 today (though we don't have any humidity).

I have come to the realization that I pretty much wear the same clothes year-round here, with the exception of the 1-1.5 months of cold (<70 degree) weather, when I get to wear sweaters. It sucks. I do try to wear darker, more fallish colors, though. I have a great collection of jewel-toned tanks! LOL

I feel your pain - Texas. I am the queen of 3/4 length sleeves. Shirts, cardis, even jackets. While it is going back & forth, I wear a tee under a hoodie or cardi so I can strip it off it / when i need to. I hate it. hate it hate it....

Thanks everyone.  I think I buy clothing for how I want the weather to be and not for how it really is.  Next year, I am planning to buy some clothing for how it really is down here.  Hey, at least I can view it as a good excuse to do some major shopping.  and, it will force me to be a little more creative.

The weather has been totally schizo here - hot for a while, then freezing.  It's a real pain in the a**.  I have been trying to buy lots of short-sleeve tops and thin cotton sweaters.  Here are some of my recent outfits:

I feel your pain, yesterday it was 80 degrees and today its only 65 degrees.  i swear by cardigans and jackets, light weight cotton long sleeve tees and shirts.  plus what has helped me get used to the carolina weather is keep a pashmina scarf on hand just in case it get chilly after work, I can just wrap it around me and stay warm.
