Glamour's top 10 trends of 2011

Apparenly I'm not the trendiest of people (thank god!)  I do prefer a minimal look. I also wore brighter colors instead of so much gray and try to mix in more prints this year.  Did anyone else try anything?

We've got the scoop on the 10 biggest trends in 2011...straight from Polyvore! Check out which key looks were the most popular among Polyvore users, after the jump.

No. Besides, aren't the "trends" they're listing timeless? Also, screw the jean style trends -- I just wear what I feel comfy in: boot cut, straight leg, or skinny for tucking into boots.

love that Stella McCartney skirt, btw.

Yeah, but fashion "experts" always have to declare it as "The year of the..." Personally I'm just glad that ruffles and frou-frou bits stuff randomly on clothes are on the way out (which means that manufacturers will make less hopefully and I can actually find some stuff that I like.)

I love the orange shift dress. I feel most comfortable in a simple, clean look that I can accessorize to strike my mood. I also just realized that I tend towards the "ladylike" touches of strap shoes, clutches and leather gloves. But I like to mix it up with jeans and leather.

I love the Alice & Olivia sequin dress! But then I think sequins are pretty fantastic, trendy or not trendy. I love them.

Agree on the ruffles! I remember being at Nordstrom about 6 months ago, looking for tops. I just walked out shaking my head cuz everything looked like the Ruffle Fairy threw up all over it all!

 Couldn't agree more!

I only have one pair of skinnies, I don't feel like wearing only that style. I haven't steered away from boot cuts, not even when skinnies were all the rage.

I get always defensive when magazines declare "this year's trends". It's like I feel forced to buy them. I am not a big color fan, especially in the winter, and seeing all this year's color blocking made me feel a bit "dated" or demodé!

Love that orange dress - not an easy color though!
