Need a dress for 2nd Chance prom dinner party

Our dinner party club has an event every other month. This time it is second chance prom or even tacky prom. There is no way I can fit (or even still have) any of my old prom dresses. They are having it catered and having a band and a photographer to take tacky prom photos.  It should be fun. But I don't really have anything I can wear. Hubby is just wearing a black tux and we will get the corsage and boutinerre. Any ideas for a funny prom idea or even a nice looking dress?


I am 5'9", blue eyes, dirty blond hair and fair skinned.

Oh, that sounds like fun! If you really want to go prom-ish, I would try someplace like Jessica McClintock or Windsor Fashions.

If I were you I'd go as a drunk girl. Messed up hair, smeared lip stick, etc. For that one I'd defintely go with a tulle skirt. To go regular, I really like the first one. The second one isn't very prom-y and I personally never wear black to events like this because half the women there will be in black not to mention all the men. Here are a bunch I like from Bluefly...

I particularly love the last one. Anyway, those dresses are what my prom two years ago looked like.

Is this a serious event where you do try to look wonderful, or when you say "tacky" is this an opportunity to get one of those ridiculous cheap / obnoxious dresses from ebay & dress like 80s prom? Just curious - cause that would be fun if you are up to it / if it's appropriate!
