i have a date- update with new drama

im excited, i have a date tonight.  ok, so i have been single again about 5 months and i have had other "dates" but this is a for real go to dinner traditional date.  i honestly haven't had one of those yet (this time around), everyone wants to "hang out" or get a drink or something.  im excited because this is a real go to dinner with reservations date.  i don't understand what happened to "real" dates.  just wanted to share.

although, opinions on what im going to wear would be nice.  i was thinking dark jeans with a teal top from gap that has thin straps with a black blazer.  im starting to question the blazer.  it goes to one of my suits and is short and fitted.  i just don't want to look too officey.  does this sound ok?

***update***

so my date went well.  we just went to dinner and it was de-lish.  we had good conversation and he is nice but there were no real sparks.  he seems much younger than me.  i would go out with him again but not really have any expectations of it going anywhere.

on a not so good note, there is a guy, b, that i was hoping i would start to get more serious with that i have been seeing for about a month.  well saturday night b and his friends were going to a bar/club near my apartment and i told him i would meet him there.  i asked if he could walk and meet me halfway because i didn't feel totally comfortable walking alone.  he said he would.  when i called and said i was about to head out, he told me he couldn't leave and while i sat there stunned trying to decide if i was still going to go he hung up!!!  wtf!!!  needless to say, that is OVER.  he messaged me a lame im sorry today and i told him that wasn't enough.  boys are so dumb.

Yay for 'real' dates!

I say wear the blazer, but wear a strapless bra with your cami so you can take off the blazer if you get hot or it starts to feel to 'officey'.  Some obviously office-inappropriate dangly earrings would be a nice touch.

Good luck!  Full report expected !

Yey, exciting!  I know, what is with guys now?  Real dates are almost extinct & when I do get asked on a "real date," I get nervous & think it seems so "personal."  Tonight this guy who I am kind of talking to wants to cook me dinner- and he asked on Wed. which I found pretty shocking in itself- which is sad... Anyway- have fun tonight & the outfit you suggested sounds great & like the other girls said- just add accessories you wouldn't normally wear to the office.

Thanks ladies.  I'll let you know how it goes.  Jess, you are right I'm sort of nervous for this one and I don't usually get nervous for dates and things.  Thats so great the guy is cooking you dinner.  Good luck with that.  I want to hear how it goes.
