should i get this food processor/blender combo?

so i have quite a bit of membership rewards points from my amex. i was planning on getting a williams sonoma gift cert and getting a kitchenaid mixer with that. (i have about 35,000 pts). so i will have points left over, and am thinking of getting this:

it's a krups food processor/blender combo. my old blender broke last year, and my food processor just broke! i only got my fp 6 months ago from target and i'm pissed, but i can't find my receipt. sooo. my shady dilemma is this: should i try to rebuy the fp i have, and return my broken one with that receipt, or should i just lose the 40$ i spent on the fp, and get this new combo? i would still need to get a blender anyhow.

I don't really have any advice about your situation, except that I'd try to get your money back from Target. OR, there definitely should be some sort of manufacturer warantee for your processor. It's usually a year. I did that with a toaster I bought from Walmart. It broke before the year was up, so instead of dealing with Walmart, I called the company and they sent me a new one, no questions asked.

Also, I have the Cuisinart version of the blender/food processor combo and I love it. It's just one less appliance to find a place for.

My husband is RIDICULOUS when it comes to kitchen appliances.  He has TONS of magazines with info on all sorts of appliances.  I'll see if he knows anything about the Krups food processor/blender and let you know.

ETA:  I asked DH and he doesn't really know anything about the food processor/blender combo.  He said Krups generally makes pretty good things though, but is a little wary of two-in-one products as so many of them don't work as well as stand alone products.
