Refusing a Package..update...
Permalink Closed

UPDATE:  the damn shirt didn't fit over my boobs!  i'm only a 34C.  i should have refused the package and now i have to pay for return shipping.  i was a beautiful shirt though...

so i ordered a gorgeous top that was rather expensive.  so i figured at this point, i would pay extra for 2-day shipping and have it for my trip..well...when i got home from work yesterday, i noticed that the package was not there, the signature required note was there (kinda defeats 2-day!!!)   i signed the card this morning and when i got home from bcbg work today, it wasn't there either.

i live in a secure condo and you need a code to get in and we have a mailroom (packages are usually just left there and there's never been a problem within the condo).  i understand that the instructions are from the sender, not UPS, but regardless, i'm not sure i want the shirt anymore if it doesn't come today (i checked status and it's not IN TRANSIT yet).  if it's not here today, by let's say 8, i'll take the card off of the door.  i'll be out of town tomorrow and the shirt will just go back to blaec, right?

technically i won't be "refusing it" i will just "ignoring" it. also, i don't want to risk it getting lost in the system and not getting credit back if i take the signature down...just wondering if that's what happens...

thanks ladies....

Who's shipping it?  UPS, FedEx...?  I think that by ignoring it, it will go to one of their hubs and you'll then be responsible for picking it up.  I don't think it will just go back to the sender and you'll get your money back.

I agree. I think it is more complicated than just sending it back to the sender. They will probably hold on to it for 60 days or so, before any action is taken. Then I think you may be responsible for pick-up. I think things could get really hairy for you if you don't just accept the package and return it the right way.

really?  because i had a bluefly package that was sent back to bluefly under these same circumstances.  i wonder if that's bluefly's policy and each sender could be different?

i just think it would be easier if i didn't have to open it, and pay for return shipping and just not be around for them to deliver it.

I've had that happen to me tons of times with UPS. They only keep it at their hub for a few days, max. After that they ship it back. I've had it happen when I was gone over xmas for just a week and a half! Bastards.
