the western detail at the top is a non-issue to me. yes, it's trendy right now especially if you'll be wearing them over top your jeans (a trend) or with a skirt (a trend). when worn under a pair of jeans though, you'll see only the classic stacked heel and rounded toe. oh, and one could always argue that the western detail at top is classic as well.
I think these are pretty classic. Round toes, and that heel on boots are never "wrong". I like the western flair and don't think it is obnoxiously trendy.
i love 'em! who makes thems and where can i buy them??

Well, I ended up getting these Nicole "Fargo" boots in a boutique today, except in brown (the color here is called whiskey) for $139.
The first ones I posted are the Franco Sarto "Cigar" @ Nordstrom on sale for $99.90 (down from $150.). I had put a 7.5 brown pair of the FS in my shopping cart this morning and when I got home, low and behold they were no longer available. C'est la vie! The karmic boot fairy must have been by my side or something.
I really do love the Nicoles and my husband has been raving about them all night
ETA: when I posted I didn't realize the top of the pic. was cut off. These look like the FS but they don't have that western dip thing on top.
