What is it? Does anyone have experience with quality?


I'm looking at this sweater from Bebe, which is 100% mercerized wool...it looks cute IRL but I haven't tried it on or anything.

Mercerizing is a treatment done on yarn that is supposed to strengthen it , reduce pilling, and improve the appearance/luster.  I've never bought a sweater with that content, but I have knit with mercerized yarn and haven't had any problems.  My own personal opinion is that it is probably a process used on lower quality yarn to make it look better. 


I probably would pay less for mercerized wool than regular wool.
