Not digging the new way Sephora is handling the FF sale this year.  It's a once time use code that you need to either get from an associate or register for.  I found this link on their FB page.  You have to enter your email address and they give you a one time unique code.  I liked it better when you just used the generic one.  I certainly bought more that way.  I hope that their sale figures refelct this and that they go back to the old way next year.

Apparently, news just broke, because the site is down. I did get to register 2 email addresses, so I guess they don't care if they all came from 1 IP address. I have 5 email addresses, so I am going to get 5 codes. I usually think of something else I want, or share it with family so they can shop for me... I hate that they have redone it!

I read someplace else that you can get the code with fake addresses too. So I tried it and was able to get another code. Don't know yet if it'll work when I check out. I'm waiting for a better 500 point perk.

I usually stock up and buy a lot of my Christmas presents during this promotion too. I'm definitely spending less this year because it's such a hassle.

Dito.  Last year's perk was awesome!

I get that they want to collect email address to get new names on their list but why not market to their loyal customers as well? On another forum a ton of people who have VIB status didn't get notified. Not cool. They're going to end up with a) negative consumer perception b) a lot of fake email addresses. They're not the only game in town!

i think so. They always collect email addresses via free samples or discount code. More careful.

Here you go...

Guess what I just did?

I placed my order at Sephora, farted around looking for specialty codes on retailmenot, and FORGOT to input my FF code during checkout.

Pardon my French, but can we say ASS?!

Bah.

It wasn't a huge purchase, but still.

They don't let you stack the codes anyway. So it's either the FF % off or another code, not both. Something that has always bugged me about Sephora (which I normally love for their customer service.) I mean, would it really kill them to give me the free delux sample with a code & the 20% off a large order? I think that they're still coming out ahead.

I think their F&F codes are usually only for online purchases.  I've heard of people going into the store and being told that they need to show an actual F&F postcard to get the discount.  I've never understood that!  They always have free shipping over $50 so they're giving you 20% and then paying for shipping whereas if you walked into a store you'd likely buy more (because you can test products) and there are no shipping costs.  I'd love to know their reasoning!

I don't think so! I recall getting something in the mail usually bc I once bought a Zeno w the discount and I did that purchase in person. I personally prefer to shop in person for this sort of stuff. I'm honestly getting sick of Sephora, they don't even give samples any more, you get 1 sample per 100 dollars spent or a handful per 500 dollars spent. So cheap. The customer service is pretty shitty as well. I think I'm going back to the dept store for my beauty goodies. At least there you get attention, get answers to questions and have the opportunity to get store perks or bonus items.

I still get my 3 samples when ordering on-line. And I'll be honest, I almost always ask for a sample of something when I go in to browse. Did they stop this in New York?

They used to throw some goodies in with each purchase; now you have to stop a sales associate and ask.  I recently asked for a moisturizer sample, she obliged but gave me about a quarter teaspoon, definitely not enough to try and decide whether I wanted to shell out $40 for the real thing.
