ordered this because the NY stores and another store I called were sold out:
I decided to go for this bag- its really nice in person and it has a zip top, which is good since I don't want my stuff stolen on the subway and whatnot, plus I have to carry a ton of papers around during my job
Also bought some fingerless gloves from miniminimarket, they are purple with the camels in oranges and olives, for typing and stuff when its kind of chilly, sort of like these but better design:
and as soon as jlear comes back, i'm going to order this lovely, and ask her about new creations, as well as possibly a long silver chain with a charm at the end:
I got those brown / yellow Kenneth Cole wedges from bluefly & they should be here Monday, a pair of brown pants from Casual Corner Annex, and the COOLEST red & black plaid vintage skirt from an estate sale today. I have to lose a few more pounds to make it look great - literally 10 or so, but it is beyond precious. I'll have to post pixs later.
Oh, and a ton of yarn for knitting Christmas gifts - that's going to be a lot of my presents this year - I have to get moving!

Not trying to hijack the thread but,
laken1...how difficult is it to knit? Is it easier than crochet? Did you teach yourself? I tried to teach myself to crochet a few years ago, but I think I started out with too hard a project. I was using that very small thread and tried to do baby booties.
Im sooo loving this sweater.! I saw this on the site. But, I have never tried anything on at BeBe- the sizes all looked to small for me through the window at the mall. I wear a missus Large- maybe i will go and try it on. All the tops you got are so cute. You have great taste!
I haven't bought anything in a few weeks.. I'm seriously trying to save money. Since we had a little snow this morning, I decided it was time to get a new winter coat. I've been putting it off for as long as possible, because I haven't been able to find the perfect one. I decided to go with this one because it fits all of my qualifications... except for the fact that I'll look like every 15 year old in the city . I wasn't sure which color to get, so I got the one that had the most left on the rack. I figure that at least my coat will be a different color than the teeny boppers... right
I love this coat! It's so warm and cozy. I sized up so that I could fit thick sweaters under it, and even though it's big, it's form fitting. I don't know if that makes a lot of sense...
That's all for me for a while. I only have so long until they take my rental away before I'm gonna have to buy a car .
And from the Nordstrom BP department I bought a brown skirt that hits my calves, a pair of earrings, a necklace, and another necklace with multi-strands.

that sweater is really flattering on, it's kind of a dolman sleeve and blouson fit, which hides the parts you want to hide (for me the tummy), but shows off your good parts (for me the back and chest. You should just go in and try it, it never hurts. One thing I learned while shopping this weekend, i went to stores that I thought would never fit me(bebe) or i'm too mature for (delias), but end up finding cool clothes, never judge a store by size of mannequin in it's windows, lol. Good luck with the sweater! I'm sure it will look cute on you
From urban - this jacket (looks great unbuttoned too - excellent shape)
Also from urban, a brown sweater hoodie (not on the web site) on sale for 40.
And this scarf, which is cool with the jacket:
From delias, I picked up some tees and a thermal for weekend lazing around and running to starbucks, etc. Oddly, I have barely any lazy weekend clothes.
this thermal in army green:
What is amusing about these tees is that unlike the 16 year-olds they are made for, a) I am old enough to have seen these bands in concert and b) I actually like them. Ok, the AC/DC might be slightly tongue in cheek, but it was in the 80's too. And given that "You Shook Me All Night Long" was our senior graduation party theme (not to mention played at every keg party), it's definitely nostalgic. I am wearing it right now, under aforementioned urban brown sweater hoodie.

love the velvet jacket, dc! I know - I love the "vintage" concert/band tees... vintage... was eyeing the Rolls Royce one on Delia's myself
Because I have a Newport News credit card that I hadn't used, and found some other codes along with my membership discount, I had me a NN shopping spree...
this skirt that I thought would be cute with my green miss sixty dance boots
a long tweed skirt (this would look great with a fitted t-neck and big belt or blouse with velvet blazer and high heeled boots or with a big chunky sweater and my frye harness or cowboy boots...
this cardigan in the color shown (could look nice with either skirt too)
cashmere blend cocoon cardi and matching tank (I am thinking a vintage sweater chain/clip or a vintage hat pin could be a cool way to secure the front if I want...)
this in blouse in black for work
AND I won this vintage bag on eBay
