i have the f21, and i was checking out a pair of johnson shorts yesterday. imo the johnson's are nice but $220 for shorts is insane. the f21 ones are super cute, and lined. they're a little longer than the johnson's (the johnson shorts i saw were supershort, but they might come in different inseams), and they're lined. if you're looking into getting a something in that vein i highly suggest the f21 ones since they're 1/10 of the price, and quite cute. hth.

eta: i saw the johnson's at intermix in soho, i'm pretty sure they'd do a charge send for you.

bumblebee -- i'm about your size, more consistently a 30 though, my thighs and butt don't believe in size 29.  i got a large. (i should add i almost always get a large in pants from f21, so they're consistent with f21's sizing.)  they're a little big in the waist, but it works b/c it makes them a little slouchy. i'm going to try and wear them this weekend. if i do i'll post a pic, so you can get an idea of how they fit.

i'm not 100% sure. i want to wear them on sunday to brunch, and it's supposed to be warmer (like low 60's for a high) so i might go bare legged and pair them with fryes, but i totally plan to wear them with tights too. to be honest, i'm a tad intimidated by them, but  i'm trying to view them as a variation of a mini-skirt, and that's what i'd wear with a mini in the winter.

Could someone post a pic of the F21 version?  I can't seem to find it.  I love the Johnsons but $200+ for shorts is crazy talk.

honey: i ordered the shorts! yey! I wanted the Johnson version so bad but was hesitant ot pay that much for shorts. So when I saw the ones on F21 i couldnt believe it. 

A have a couple questions for you:  Is the color that is shown on the site pretty accurate? HOw low do they fit?

honey- i like these too- did you buy them at a NY forever21 or online?  I'm not sure if I should brave a b & m store for them so I can try them on and not pay shipping, espec. since they may be sold out with all the fashionistas in this city   I am a size 27-28, 4, i'm wondering if I should get the medium or small?  I want them to be somewhat slouchy too, but I think the waist will be big on a medium, since the waist was big on you.  Could you have sized down?

soulchic -- the picture is a pretty accurate. i think i mentioned this earlier, they're a wool like material. but they're fully lined. they're not too low. the rise is comparable with citizen's or seven's. definitely not as low as tr's.

bumblebee -- you're not the only nerd. i was leaving the store when i saw the shorts on the mannequin. i *ran* back in and demanded to know where they were hiding the shorts. i was literally giddy when i left the store b/c i wanted a pair of shorts like that, and had already resigned (sp?) myself to waiting for knock-offs next summer. also you're outfit sounds super cute.

lynnie -- i would probably order them online. the f21 in herald square is pretty  well laid out, and if you don't go b/t the lunch rush (12-2) you won't really have to worry about it being crowded. i think they would have them in store (the one by my house is super small and they had them), but i've had mixed results sometimes with finding online stuff in the store. there was a dress someone posted earlier, and i looked high & low for it, and never found it. so if you want them i'd just go the online route. i think you would be fine with a small. if it helps i'm usually an 8 in pants in regular stores.
