Help Me Style This Anthro Dress

I'm wanting to order this for our family Christmas pictures we're having done outdoors next month.  I'm thinking a slim fitting top underneath, tights and boots.  Help me out!

Also, I can't tell if it's black, brown or navy on screen so if anyone's seen it IRL, please let me know!!

I have a lot of platform/heel loafers that would look great but I was thinking more along the line of boots since it's outdoors.

HI! I think cognac color leather will work better with that. I'd pick higher boots (knee height). Chunky bangles!

Love the dress!

I'm thinking J Crew-ish. You know how they style their pieces very season inappropriate but so cute? Like sweater layered over long sleeve collared shirts and shorts?

 

I like a cardi over the dress (unbuttoned) and belted at the waist instead of a shirt under the dress.  Maybe in cream or a royal blue.

And then a chunky cozy looking scarf thrown around your neck.

How interesting, after I saw your dress here in the forum, I watched PanAm that I recorded, a character wore such a similar dress! it seemed like the fabric was the same, the silhuette too. Looked so stylish & figure accenting!
