media cabinet--opinions

i went to the Pottery Barn, williams sonoma, hold everything outlet yesterday and they had some great stuff. They had this media cabinet for $299. I love the expresso color. It is normally 1000 but is on sale on line for $499 +90 shipping. So I was researching some of the good finds I found yesterday and was going back to the outlet and really want to get this media cabinet for $299. Does anyone use a media cabinet for their desk? I would just love to be able to shut it and not see all my stationery, pens, laptop, files, etc.

We used to have one - I always liked it but FH hated it!  He has long legs and big feet and he said it was never comfortable for him because there wasn't anywhere to put them.  The only drawback I found was that there isn't any surface area for writing anything, but if you have other space for that then it's not a problem .
