Sites on flattering your body type?
Permalink Closed

I'm not sure where this post goes but I figure this is a good start.

I really want to start dressing completely for my body type - going against trends & wearing the same outfit in different colors if i have to! I decided to throw out every style that doesn't flatter me, for one those shrugs that tie at the waist - I wore one the other day & after seeing someone shaped like me in one, thought I really shouldn't have that on.

Is there some online sites that discuss this? I'm sure there has to be but I don't even know where to start. I know there are books & I'd like to hear those if you know them as well, but I'm afraid if i concentrate on a book I'd copy that EXACT outfit down to the color & never vary my wardrobe at all...I'm just kind of scared because I'm about to let go of A LOT of clothes.

HELP

YAY! Someone that agrees - I just did a search of dressing for your body type but I got a site that suggests stirup pants that are small at the ankle & discourages wide leg trousers, cuffed pants, or a-line skirt because they are not flattering. I was like HUH???? So now I'm not very trusting of the internet at large & am looking for more of an expert from our site.

Fingers crossed too.

I googled "dressing for your body type" (I didn't read these before posting the links, and will not be held liable for inducing the wearing of stirrup pants )

This is my favorite quote from the first site:

# Nobody looks good in high-waisted, pleated pants with narrow ankle openings, but manufacturers still turn these out in droves. Avoid!

Hee hee.
