Help me find an outfit for Lucy's baptism!!
Permalink Closed

Hi, girls!!  I would love to get opinions and ideas on what to wear to my baby's baptism on Nov. 5th.  I want to find something classic but modern, appropriate for a church and of course weather appropriate (it might be cold in DC by then).  To give you an idea of what I like, I found a few things by Nanette Lapore at NM on sale, but each option has a piece that's not available so I would have to track it down.  So, if you don't have any ideas to post can you tell me what you think of these:

This is the first outfit I saw, I think I love it but up close I'm not sure about the polka dot pattern.  The jacket is available in my size,  is the skirt worth tracking down by calling B&M stores??

This is a pantsuit and I think I might like it better but it would be more difficult to track down b/c both pieces are missing (but the shell is available).  I might get a lot of wear out of this one, but then again it might be more officey:

This is a skirt suit I liked but it might be too springy, also the skirt is only available in a 6 which might swallow me:

 Thanks everyone!

i couldn't see the first one, but i really like the pantsuit! it looks very versatile, and i think would be nice for a baptism. the second skirt suit felt a little too springy for me. (but that's just my opinion)

at my nephews' baptism, it was pretty casual. ("business casual") i wore gap tweed pants that were sort of brown with glittery gold, and a black sweater. i think my sister just wore a simple dress.

What about a nice classic dress, maybe add a cardigan and definately some great shoes, maybe some t-strap heels and tights.

Thanks, girls!  FP, I like some of your options and will check them out.  I have a few wrap dresses already that I could wear but I kind of want something unlike what I already own--I really like Nanette Lepore or Trina Turk.  Here is the link again for the first option that I posted:

And here is another option that I can ask the store owner of the boutique where I work to order for me at 30% off (if she'll do it):

ETA--edited to reverse the links (so the right pic goes with the right description, i.e. the first one is the one that's on sale that I would have to track down and the second one I could order.

Any opinions?  I'm going to check bluefly next so I may post some more options.  Thanks!

I like this last option you posted, very pretty and you could even wear the blazer with jeans for casual.

Thanks everyone, and thanks FP for posting the picture.  They don't have any of the sale options, so I am going to keep looking . . . I might end up getting the one FP posted, but it's pricey even with my emp'ee discount.
