ok I have had enough - I am FINALLY decorating my bedroom

it's been a year and a half that we are in our house and I still have not decorated my room - mostly because I am having a hard time finding things I really, really like - or I can't totally decide on a "look" - I don't know - but it's time to just do it already.

I want to start with rugs...here are some of my ideas:

or in brown

BTW - here is my bed and furniture:

My floors are hardwood and my walls are sage green. I have three windows I need to get curtains for and a bedspread as well. I want something grown up, contemporary - I am not afraid of color  - I just dont know what color to work with...I am confused...maybe I am better off with oriental rugs? I actually also have room for a little sitting area in the room too - ...I need help!

What about a sheepskin rug?  It's cozy and maybe more grown up looking.

I like rug #4 and the one Rosie posted w/ the swirls/circles.  I'm really into circles.  I have a mod rug in my basement guest bath in the dark brown w/ turquoise squares.  I painted the walls Tiffany turquoise and hung a chocolate velvet shower curtain w/ crystal chandelier drops.  Maybe you could find some brown velvel for curtains (I believe PB, Target, and West Elm all have brown velvets) and find some long crystal strands to use as tie backs?  I've seen pics in magazines where the designer used the bead garland for Christmas trees as tie-backs, and it looked really cool!  Not the cheesy looking ones, but really nice ones.
