I may make a trip to Birmingham some time soon. What shops should I make sure to visit? I only know of Anthropoligie. Thanks!

If you just park at Maple and Bates and walk east down Maple from Bates (Tender on the right, Smith and Hawken on the left) there's boutiques on both sides of Maple almost all the way to Woodward.  South of Maple down Old Woodward to west on Merrill to North on Pierce toward Maple there are more boutiques on both sides of the street.

Some boutiques you might like are Edward Dorian, Ariada, Tender, Roots, Caruso Caruso, Imelda's closet, and a few others I can't recall the name of off the top of my head... there's one near Maple and Peabody St. that I really like and can't remember the name of (it's next door to a UPS store)...

Yeah, I ended up going today and did not get a thing! I don't have $2,000 to spend on a shirt!  Tender was fab, some of the prettist clothes I had ever seen. Oh, the store next to the UPS store was my favorite! Cute, cute things and not bad prices. They had a pair of MJ pumps, so beautiful and marked down to $90 but just a size too small. Thanks for the recs though, it was fun to drool!
