Gauge striped sweater...thoughts?
Permalink Closed

I saw this Gauge sweater at Hillary Rush (a LOVELY boutique in LA on 3rd st. with the SWEETEST salesgirls ever). It's $275...that's ridiculous, right? It's 100% wool with a shawl collar and wrap tie. It's a long sweater and comes to about midthigh on me.

I want to live in it and wear it like a big fat blanket...If it was like $145...it would be mine already. *sigh*

i have this gauge sweater and I love it!  its very good quality.  I only wish it was a tad longer (maybe i could have sized up?), but not really.  $275 IS pricey (mine was $150 and i thought that was hard), but if you KNOW you'll wear it for years, its not as pricey anymore   At least thats what i'm telling myself, as soon as i get my first paycheck i want to splurge on a $400 brooklyn handknit sweater

That is absolutely beautiful!  Yeah, I think $275 might be a little bit too much for a sweater.  It also depends on how you are feeling about your finances tho.

Has anyone found Gauge sweaters for sale online yet?

haha, "yes lilykind, $275 is somewhat ridiculous for a sweater," but then again, my budget doesn't really allow me to spend that much for a sweater. it IS really nice though.. maybe wait it out for a sale?

obvs if you have the money get it. but $275 for pure wool (unless the whole is really soft) is a bit much. i feel like vince sells a similar sweater that's all cashmere for $20 more.

I really like that sweater, but $275 is a little too steep for me. Is it possible to wait for a sale?

I also love the one honey posted.

I think I'm going to wait. As awesome as this sweater is, the salesgirls told me that they're getting new stock in all the time, so they're probably going to get more Gauge sweaters before the season ends.

lynnie, if they had one like yours in stock, I would've grabbed it in a second. I could handle swinging $150 for this sweater, but $275...no way.

honey, you're totally right...and I bet that Vince sweater be discounted to like $115 during Neiman's first call in a couple of weeks. They always have a million cashmere sweaters for sale them...

thanks girls as always!
